Ministry of Agriculture Holds Training on Application Technology of National Veterinary Drug Traceability System

On May 19-20, the Veterinary Bureau of the Ministry of Agriculture held a national training course on the application technology of veterinary drug product traceability system in Yinchuan, Ningxia.

The reporter learned that the Ministry of Agriculture implements the traceability management of national veterinary drug products, which aims to effectively improve the quality of veterinary drug products, crack down on the illegal behavior of veterinary drugs, and effectively control the problem of veterinary drug residues in animal food by implementing traceable supervision over the production, management, and use of veterinary drugs. The national veterinary drug product traceability system, with the "QR code" marking technology as the core, has been widely welcomed by local veterinary drug regulatory departments, veterinary drug enterprises and breeders since it was put into operation in early 2014. It is understood that through this system, veterinary drug regulatory departments can conveniently and quickly deal with the quality information feedback from various aspects of veterinary drug production, management, and use, trace the source of veterinary drug production, and take more specific monitoring measures to ensure timely and effective supervision. Veterinary drug manufacturers can comprehensively improve the sense of responsibility, quality and integrity, improve the ability of product quality assurance, and actively maintain the reputation of the enterprise. Veterinary drug management enterprises can well implement the purchase inspection system to ensure the legitimacy of veterinary drugs in the circulation market. The majority of consumers can scan the QR code of veterinary drugs through the smart phone client, grasp the product sources in time, enhance the identification ability of veterinary drugs, and protect their legitimate rights and interests.

During the training, relevant personnel from the Veterinary Bureau of the Ministry of Agriculture, China Institute of Veterinary Drug Supervision and Technology Company explained the technical contents of the traceability system, "QR code" printing, "QR code" data collection and upload, and answered the questions raised by the trainers on the spot. More than 60 persons in charge and technical personnel of veterinary drug manufacturers from Hainan, Yunnan, Gansu, Qinghai, Ningxia and Xinjiang provinces participated in the training.
