according to the statistics of the World Tree Nuts Association, in view of the deterioration of human living environment, people's demand for healthy and brain-healthy food is increasing. The annual demand for walnut kernels is expected to increase at a rate of 5%. At the same time, China's domestic consumption demand for walnut kernels will also increase by 10% to 20%.

   1. Export scale at present, the demand space of China's domestic walnut market is increasing, the domestic sales momentum of walnut is high, and the price is obviously higher than that of foreign markets. In the 1950s and 1960s, China accounted for 50% and 60% of the international walnut market, with brilliant achievements. After the 1970s, the United States implemented variety and technological renewal, and became a large country in export quantity and economic benefits. Although Chinese walnut is a large country in planting area and total output, its share and price in the international market have declined year by year because of poor product quality, and the dominant position has been replaced by the United States. Walnut in the United States is now in the full fruit period, and the yield is stable and growing. India's walnut production is 30,000 tons, the quality is also improving, the export volume is also increasing, is very competitive. The export of Moldovan walnut kernels from Eastern Europe also poses a threat to the sales of walnut kernels in China in the European market. The appearance and quality of the walnut kernels they export are similar to those of French high-quality walnuts, and they are close to each other, cheap and popular.

in recent years, the export volume of walnut in China fluctuated greatly, with an export volume of 1650 tons in 1996, 4750 tons in 1999 and 1180 tons in 2001. The average annual export volume remained at 1200 million tons (nuts), and reached about 10, 000 tons in some years. It can be seen that China's walnut kernel market, as a traditional export commodity, is shrinking, and the export volume is declining. If the problems of water and adulteration in the harvest and processing of walnut kernel are not solved, and the problems of walnut seed cultivation and extensive management are not fundamentally changed, the prospect of China's walnut kernel export market will not be optimistic.

walnut is exported to nearly 20 countries and regions in China, such as the United Kingdom, Japan, Vietnam, Germany, Canada and Hong Kong, China. From 2003 to 2006, the export volume of Chinese walnut increased year by year. In 2004, the export volume of walnut was 112.06% of that in 2003. In 2005, the export volume of walnut was 138.20% of that in 2003. In 2006, the export volume of walnut was 145% of that in 2003. 43%.

   2. Trade structure walnut is a traditional agricultural product of China. In 1921, the national export volume of walnut was 6710 tons, and it began to be exported to Britain and the Federal Republic of Germany in the 1960s. The walnut kernels exported are very popular in the international market because of their milky white color, sweet taste and meticulous grading, and were once equal to France and Italy. In the early 1970s, American walnuts gradually occupied part of the international market because of their neat appearance and good quality. In the late 1980s, because the quality of Chinese walnut was mixed and the quality of Chinese walnut products was difficult to compete with foreign products, the export volume decreased. The export volume of walnut in 2003 was less than 10,000 tons, and the competitiveness in the international market of walnut became weaker.

Through the comparison of the above projects,    can clearly see the close relationship between the output per unit area, the export quantity, the quality of nuts and nuts and the selling price of China and the United States, which further shows that a large output country is not necessarily a competitive power and a benefit country. With China's entry into WTO and the acceleration of economic globalization, the competition between domestic and foreign markets of fruits is becoming increasingly fierce, and the comparative benefits of bulk fruits continue to decline, while walnuts and other characteristic fruits have broad prospects for development because of their strong market competitiveness and high comparative benefits.

has entered the 21st century, China's walnut industry has developed rapidly again. According to the statistics of the World Tree Nuts Association in recent years, China's walnut export ranked second in the international market share in 2005, second only to the United States. 90,000 tons, ranking first, followed by the United States and Iran. Although China's walnut production and walnut kernel export have made great progress, the export of walnut nuts and nuts in China still has a low and unstable share in the international sales market because of the poor product quality. Therefore, breeding excellent walnut varieties, improving walnut quality and realizing the variety, standardization, industrialization and commercialization of walnut production in China have become an urgent problem to be solved in the development of walnut industry.
