Last Updated: 2024/11/08, (1) the feeding frequency, feed intake and feeding behavior of piglets with limited feeding in the early stage all affect the acidity in the digestive tract of piglets. The increase of pH value in digestive tract of piglets after feeding is related to food intake, so that multiple meals in piglets can slow down the acid requirement in digestive tract and make the pH value in digestive tract not.

  (i) Early limited feeding

Feed frequency, feed intake and feed intake behavior of piglets all affect acidity in digestive tract. The increase of pH value in digestive tract of piglets after feeding is related to feed intake. Feeding piglets more meals can reduce acid requirement in digestive tract and make pH value in digestive tract lower.

The value does not increase significantly. Piglets refused to eat food in the first 1 ~ 2 days after separation from sows, resulting in large amount of food intake, disturbing small intestine function and digestion and absorption process, sudden diarrhea and acute death in severe cases. Therefore, in the early days after weaning, the feed intake of piglets should be controlled, not exceeding 25 g/kg body weight, feeding more than 6 times a day in the first week, avoiding excessive feed, fermentation in the large intestine, production of harmful substances, leading to piglet diarrhea.

  (ii) Increased feeding

Early weaned piglets weigh about 6.5 kg (21 days weaning) and require 110 g of diet per day to maintain weaning weight. If you want to gain 250 grams per day after weaning, you need 230 grams of diet, plus 110 grams for maintenance, for a total of 340 grams per day. In order to maintain the post-weaning weight gain rate and improve the growth rate of piglets throughout their lives, it is necessary to feed diets with high digestibility. It is best to keep the post-weaning feed unchanged and reduce weaning stress. Increasing feed collection methods: American research found that the use of mat feeding method can greatly increase the feed intake of piglets in the first week after weaning. Because this method stimulates the collective feeding behavior of piglets excited. The specific method is to spread a small amount of feed on the mat on the ground within 3 days after weaning of piglets, 3 times a day, and ensure that piglets eat within 30 minutes each time. After measurement, the daily weight gain of piglets fed by stinging is more than twice that of the control group after weaning.

(III) Environmental temperature and humidity control Early weaned piglets are very sensitive to temperature and humidity requirements, weaning stress usually leads to reduced food intake and body fat loss in the first few days after weaning, and the temperature in the house suitable for weaning should be increased by 3-4℃, i.e. the environmental temperature of weaned piglets at 3 - 4 weeks of age is about 30℃. When the temperature difference in the house was greater than 3℃, it could cause diarrhea and slow growth of piglets. The temperature at eye level for the average person may be 3℃ higher than the temperature at which piglets lie.

  (iv) Vaccination

All kinds of vaccine injection should be carried out in the second week after the transfer group, all kinds of vaccines should be injected at staggered time, and the last week should be dewormed. It is best to design a water tank in the nursery, which is connected with the water pipe, and can supplement vitamins and medicines according to prevent various diseases.

  (5) Strict disinfection

Pigs must be cleaned and soaked before they are transferred to pigsty, utensils and ground. Then, wash the ground with high-pressure water gun, dry the birth bed, feeding trough, etc., and thoroughly disinfect it with disinfectant twice. If the pig is disinfected, use a broad-spectrum, low-irritation, high-efficiency disinfectant. The injection needle shall be strictly executed one pig one needle, and the needle shall not be used without disinfection.

  (6) Timely elimination of defective pigs

Defective pigs grow slowly and consume more feed. Most of them are poisoned pigs. They continue to detoxify to the surroundings and become new sources of infection. Therefore, when eliminating defective pigs in time, they can save feeding costs, reduce medical expenses, concentrate on healthy pigs and improve benefits.
