In recent years, with the implementation of the policy of policy-oriented agricultural insurance to benefit the people, premium subsidies have been implemented for farmers to participate in insurance, which has enhanced farmers' ability to resist natural disasters and become an "umbrella" for increasing farmers' income, which has been generally welcomed by the peasants. Recently, in a conversation with farmers, the author learned that they have "five hopes" for policy-oriented agricultural insurance:

It is hoped that the agricultural insurance policy will be stable. In recent years, natural disasters such as high hot wind, drought and waterlogging, freezing rain and snow, diseases and insect pests are frequent, which have brought adverse effects on agricultural production. From the perspective of reality, many farmers have tasted the benefits of insurance returns, and farmers hope that the agricultural insurance policy can remain stable for a long time.

The second hope is to expand the insured varieties. It is reported that at present, most of the insured varieties of policy-oriented agricultural insurance are still limited to major crops such as wheat and corn, and there are not many insured varieties, and farmers are looking forward to adding more varieties of melons, fruits and vegetables, nurseries, and small miscellaneous grains.

It is hoped that the compensation will be settled in time after the disaster. Agricultural production, especially growing grain, has high risks and low benefits, and farmers are even more miserable in the event of natural disasters. Therefore, farmers hope that insurance companies can simplify the work flow of claims settlement, do not delay claims, do not hesitate to compensate, do not refuse compensation, and pay compensation in time according to the terms, so as to better mobilize the enthusiasm of farmers to participate in insurance.

Four hope to increase the publicity of agricultural insurance. Rural areas are inconvenient and located in remote areas, and many farmers still do not know the specific payment and claim settlement standards of policy-oriented agricultural insurance, and some mistakenly think that the purchase of insurance is an increased burden. Farmers expect the government and insurance companies to go to the countryside to publicize agricultural insurance clauses and make them understand policies in a way that farmers can see and understand.

I hope that villages and towns will set up outlets. It is understood that the outlets of insurance companies are generally located in the county, so it is very inconvenient to apply for insurance and settle claims. Farmers expect agricultural insurance to be oriented to rural areas, and it is best to set up representative offices in townships (towns), so that farmers do not travel long distances and often meet with agents, so as to better serve "agriculture, rural areas and farmers" and benefit farmers.
