Diarrhea is a common and frequently-occurring disease in cattle. So what's with the cow diarrhea? According to analysis, many causes of diarrhea in cattle, clinical symptoms are also different. So, what should I do with diarrhea? In fact, in cattle production, farms (households) to effectively prevent the occurrence of cattle diarrhea, must take corresponding prevention and control measures according to different diarrhea types and symptoms of cattle, in order to receive good control effect. The common types of diarrhea in cattle and their prevention and treatment methods are introduced as follows:

1. Bovine diarrhea

Cause: Diarrhea caused by fungal gastroenteritis in cattle fed moldy and deteriorated fodder.

Symptoms: The affected cattle are generally characterized by mental exhaustion, loss of appetite, reduced rumination, persistent diarrhea, and loose stool odor often mixed with foam, mucus and blood, but the temperature of the affected cattle does not rise, and antibiotics are generally ineffective.

Prevention and control methods: cattle fodder should be replaced in a timely manner, it is strictly prohibited to feed cattle with moldy and deteriorated fodder;

For cattle with mold diarrhea, 2500 ml ~4000 ml of 0.9% saline can be given orally to cattle twice ~3 times a day, and fresh green and juicy feed can be provided at the same time;

For severely affected cattle, intravenous injection of 5% glucose and sodium chloride injection 1000 ml ~3000 ml and vitamin C 2 g ~4 g should be used. Generally, it can be cured in 2 ~3 days.

2. rumen acidosis

Cause: Most of them are diarrhea caused by rumen acidosis caused by feeding excessive acid silage, distiller's grains and excessive intake of concentrate at one time.

Symptoms: affected cattle generally manifested as depression, conjunctiva was reddish, loss of appetite or even abandoned, dull eyes, staggering gait, hind limbs kicking abdomen; severe cases lying on the ground, molars groaning, muscle trembling, coma collapse state.

At the beginning of the disease, the beef has gray loose feces, which then turns into green foamy diarrhea. If not treated in time, it will eventually lead to blood in the stool and death of the cow.

Prevention and control methods: feed cattle fodder should try to fresh, diversified, storage time too long silage, distiller's grains and so on can not be fed too much at one time, feed cattle concentrate to gradually, avoid one-time feed too much, to prevent cattle rumen acidosis diarrhea.

For cattle with rumen acidosis diarrhea, 50g ~ 100g lime can be taken, 1000ml ~ 1500ml water can be added, stirred and settled for 5 minutes ~10 minutes, and the supernatant can be taken for oral administration once for 3 times a day for 2 ~3 days; for severe cattle, intravenous injection of 10% calcium gluconate injection 200ml ~ 500ml should be combined.

3. Cow fodder is unclean and loose.

Cause: diarrhea caused by bacterial gastroenteritis in cattle caused by unclean forage and unclean drinking water.

Disease: affected cattle generally manifested as depression, elevated body temperature, appetite, rumination reduction or even waste, showing persistent diarrhea. At the beginning of the disease, the steak will be like a jet, and the later defecation is weak, and the loose stool is mixed with foam, mucus and blood.

Prevention and control methods: feed cattle fodder, drinking water should be kept clean and clean, do not cause unclean diarrhea cattle fodder and drinking water.

For cattle that have had unclean diarrhea, 60 grams of garlic can be used, mashed, and appropriate amount of water for oral administration to cattle, 3 times a day;

For severely affected cattle, intramuscular injection of chloramphenicol should be carried out according to 5 mg ~10 mg per kilogram of cattle weight, and at the same time, it should be combined with oral sulfadiazine (0.2 g per kilogram of cattle weight for the first time and 0.1 g for maintenance) twice a day.

4. Cows have greediness and diarrhea

Cause: Mostly due to spring, cattle grazing a few days a one-time intake of too much just budding young grass or green feed, resulting in gastrointestinal dysfunction caused by diarrhea.

Disease: The affected cattle generally showed good spirit and appetite, normal body temperature, only diarrhea, and thin turquoise feces.

Prevention and control methods: farms (households) in the early spring after grazing cattle in the first few days, cattle should be fed coarse feed (coarse feed preferably silage corn, ammoniated rice straw, peanut seedlings, sweet potato seedlings, etc.), the cattle will be fed half full before grazing.

After 15 to 20 days of transition, after the gastrointestinal function of cattle gradually adapts to digestion of grass, it is transferred to normal grazing all day to prevent cattle from being greedy and diarrhea.

The diarrhea of cattle can be recovered only by strengthening conditioning, feeding proper hay or straw, controlling the intake of tender grass and green fodder.

For cattle with severe diarrhea, 50g ~ 75g of ginger can be taken, mashed and fried, 50ml ~ 100ml of white wine can be added, and the cattle can be orally taken once, three times a day, and the disease can be cured after continuous oral administration for 2 to 3 days.

5. oxen labor diarrhea

Cause: often due to cattle suffering from chronic digestive tract diseases, coupled with poor feeding management resulting in weak cattle physique, farmers due to tight farm work and continue to increase the load time of cattle, resulting in injuries to the bones and viscera of cattle and cause labor diarrhea.

Disease: The affected cattle generally show mental fatigue and fatigue, lie on the ground all day, reduce appetite or waste, present long-term persistent diarrhea and loose stool mixed with foam, mucus and blood, but the temperature of the affected cattle generally does not rise.

Prevention and treatment method: on the premise of timely treatment of chronic digestive tract diseases of cattle, strengthening feeding and conditioning of cattle and reducing labor load of cattle, 50g ~ 75g of sapwood is taken, and after decocting in water and waiting for temperature, 50g ~ 75g of chopped fresh iron tree leaves are added, and cattle are orally taken once, three times a day, and can be cured after continuous oral administration for 3 days to 5 days;

For cattle with severe diarrhea, intravenous injection of 5% glucose and sodium chloride injection 1000 ml ~3000 ml and vitamin C 2 g ~4 g should be used. Generally, it can be cured in 5 ~7 days.
