Mouse is a common rodent with a wide variety of species, wide distribution, and can spread a variety of diseases. What should I do if I get bitten by a mouse? The common rodent species are Rattus norvegicus, Rattus flavipectus, Rattus norvegicus and Apodemus agrarius, with Rattus norvegicus as the dominant species, and the common rodent-borne diseases are hemorrhagic fever with renal syndrome, tsutsugamushi disease, leptospirosis and so on, among which the incidence of hemorrhagic fever with renal syndrome is more serious in rural areas than in urban areas.

Hemorrhagic fever with renal syndrome (HFRS) is characterized by fever, hypotension, hemorrhage, renal damage and so on. Patients often have face, neck and upper chest redness ("three red"), headache, low back pain, orbital pain ("three pain") clinical manifestations, serious like drunken appearance. In recent years, the surveillance data of hemorrhagic fever with renal syndrome show that farmers and students are high-risk groups, patients are concentrated in the age group of 16-60 years old, and the incidence is at its peak in spring and winter.

What if I get bitten by a mouse?

If you are bitten by a mouse, you should first rinse the wound with clean water or soapy water, and then disinfect it with iodophor. The wound should be open and not bandaged. If the wound is deep or large, you should go to the hospital in time to clean and disinfect the wound. Next, we should also observe whether there are symptoms such as fever, bleeding and so on. If such symptoms occur, we must go to the regular hospital immediately.

Do you want to be vaccinated against hemorrhagic fever?

Being bitten by a mouse does not mean that you are infected with the virus. The incubation period of the hemorrhagic fever virus is usually 3 to 9 days and can be longer than 2 weeks. The antibody formation after hemorrhagic fever vaccine injection takes nearly 2 weeks, and the onset cycle is very close. Therefore, it is of little significance to inject the vaccine against hemorrhagic fever.

Do you want to be vaccinated against rabies?

According to data, although some rodents, such as mice and squirrels, can theoretically carry rabies and can be infected in the laboratory, according to a 2007 survey, rabies virus has not been detected in rodents in China. Globally, it is also very rare for rodents to bite people and cause rabies, so rabies vaccination is not recommended.

In addition, the following suggestions are made on how to prevent hemorrhagic fever with renal syndrome:

1. Avoid contact with rats or their secretions and droppings. Once rats are found at home, correct and scientific methods should be used to kill rats in time.

2. Do a good job in killing mites and disinfection in the environment. To kill mites, you can use sprayers to spray mites in places where indoor rats are active, especially in rat nests. Environmental disinfection can be done with 84 disinfectant after proper dilution, wiping the table and space spray to disinfect the air.

3. In the areas with serious rodent infestation, the key population aged 16-60 can be vaccinated against hemorrhagic fever, among which there are contraindications, those who have suffered from hemorrhagic fever in the past, and those who have been vaccinated against hemorrhagic fever throughout the course.

How to kill rats

1. Cement anti-rodent:

Stir-fry food such as rice, corn and flour, add a little cooking oil, then mix in dry cement and put it in a rat-infested place. After the mouse eats, the cement absorbs water in the intestine and solidifies, causing the mouse to bloat and die.

2. Diesel oil for rodent control:

Mix the butter, oil and diesel oil well and put them around the rat hole. Rats stick to oil and dust easily, which makes them feel uncomfortable and licks them with their mouths. Diesel oil enters the intestines and stomach with the digestive tract and corrodes the intestines and stomach to death.

3. Ammonia water for rodent control:

With ammonia 1-1.5 kg, pour into the rat hole, immediately block the hole, its smell can kill the mouse. The rat hole was poisoned with ammonia, and the mouse dared not enter within a year.
