In our country, many areas make money by raising poultry, but due to climatic problems, many people think that it is possible to raise live poultry, just according to whether you choose free breeding or group breeding, and pay attention to breeding management. Is 1100 meters above sea level suitable for raising sheep? What kind of sheep should I raise?

Winter cold wind raging, bad climate, lack of green fodder, epidemic disease is easy to spread, most ewes coincide with pregnancy, nutrition demand is very large, breeding sheep also enter the first overwintering period, facing a severe test. Careful feeding and management of sheep in winter is very important, if a little carelessness, it may lead to fat loss, miscarriage, or even a large number of deaths. Therefore, doing a good job of five major management and protection measures (warmth, herding, fat protection, fetal protection, health care) will be the key work of sheep feeding and management in winter.

1. Keep warm

The cold tolerance of sheep is relatively strong, but the winter sheep house should not be less than 0 ℃, the lamb house should not be less than 8 ℃, and the delivery room should be kept at 10: 18 ℃. Before the winter, the sheep shed should be overhauled as soon as possible, and the roof and walls should be repaired as necessary to prevent air and snow leakage. For the sheep pen located in the wild, the wind barrier should be buried with corn straw outside the north wall; the closed sheep pen should hang the wind screen on the doorway and window; the simple sheep shed can extend the eaves forward, set up a plastic greenhouse and cover the top with grass curtains. When it is too cold, you should light a stove in the enclosure to keep warm.

2. Protecting the fetus

Rams and ewes should be raised separately to prevent rams from chasing and climbing over pregnant ewes; pregnant ewes should have separate enclosures with wide doors and appropriate numbers to ensure that each pregnant sheep covers an area of 22.5 square meters to prevent pregnant sheep from being accidentally squeezed; to supply more concentrate and light salt water to pregnant sheep, warm water must be used to avoid drinking ice water and eating frost grass to ensure reasonable feeding. It is necessary to strengthen daily management to prevent fighting, fighting, collision and other behaviors within the sheep; do not go too far in grazing, do not take steep slopes and dangerous roads, avoid man-made chase, and prevent pregnant sheep from being frightened, jumping, and slipping.

3. Health care

Sheep are prone to foot-and-mouth disease, streptococcosis, acne, dysentery, cold, colibacillosis and other diseases in winter. After a fall of grazing, sheep may be infected with parasitic diseases such as tapeworm and Fasciola hepatica, and show obvious symptoms in winter. therefore, sheep should be prevented from worming in time before winter. the commonly used drugs are trichlorfon, ivermectin, thio-dichlorophenol, praziquantel, mifepristone and so on. Usually, we should often clean the enclosure, keep it clean and dry, remove faeces in time, carry out harmless treatment through accumulation and fermentation, and screen the residues. Those that have been contaminated can no longer be used. Pay attention to regularly brush the sheep group surface and coat, in order to promote blood circulation and improve body health.

4. Baoqun

Winter herding can make sheep eat suitable forage grass and breathe fresh air, which is conducive to strengthening their physique, cold resistance and disease resistance, which is the main measure to protect the herd. Grazing should choose sunny slopes with good water sources and shelter from the wind. In early winter, when some grasses and wild vegetables have not yet withered, we should seize the time for grazing and seize the favorable time when it is warmer at noon on a sunny day, so that the sheep can eat more grass and wild vegetables as much as possible. Sheep are converted to house feeding in the depths of winter. For weak sheep, special management measures should be implemented, such as feeding succulent feed, increasing concentrate feed, strengthening physical exercise and so on.

5. Keeping fat

Supply sheep with high-quality green hay and crop straw, and replenish soybean meal, corn, dried melon, wheat bran and other concentrate in a timely manner to ensure that each sheep can eat 200 grams of 250 grams of concentrate every day, and the rams and ewes reserved for breeding should be fed 500 grams of 600 grams of concentrate per day. Provide 2-3 times of drinking water regularly every day, preferably with light salt water, the water temperature is about 18 ℃. In the deep winter, even if the weather is very cold, let the sheep go out for exercise at noon on a sunny day, so as to strengthen their physique and improve their cold resistance. The fat keeping of ewes is very important. in the early stage of pregnancy, the diet can be composed of 50% alfalfa, 30% hay, 15% silage corn and 5% concentrate; in the second trimester, the diet consists of 1-1.5 kg hay, 1.5 kg silage and 0.45 kg concentrate.
