Is the frog of Asia a national protected animal? What's the difference between a frog and a frog?
Usually when you go to the vegetable market, you will see someone selling pheasants, saying they are wild. The pheasant generally refers to the tiger frog, also known as the water chicken, the green chicken, the shrimp toad. Is the wild pheasant an animal protected by the state? What's the difference between frogs and frogs?
According to the regulations, the pheasant has been listed as a national Ⅱ key protected animal. Tiger frog, also known as water chicken, is burly and sturdy, and is known as the "frog of Asia". Females are larger than males, with a body length of more than 12 cm and a weight of 250 to 500 grams. The skin is rough and there are dark irregular markings on the head and side of the body. The back is yellowish green and slightly brown, with more than a dozen rows of longitudinally arranged skin edges, and small warts are scattered between the skin edges. The ventral surface is white, with irregular markings, and grayish brown spots on the pharynx and chest. There are transverse spots on the front and rear limbs. Because these markings look a little like tiger skin, they are named after them. The tip of the toe is round and fully webbed between the toes. The forelegs are stout and the finger pads are well developed and gray. The male frog has a pair of external vocal sacs.
Life habits
Tiger frog belongs to aquatic frogs, often living in hilly areas below 900 meters above sea level in paddy fields, ditches, reservoirs, ponds, swamps and nearby grass. During the day, they often hide in all kinds of stone caves and mud caves of different depths and sizes, and only stick their heads out of the holes. If there is food activity, they will quickly prey on them, and if they encounter enemy attacks, they will hide into the holes. Males also occupy a certain area, even in denser places where they are more than 10 meters away from each other. When they find others of the same kind active in the field, they quickly jump over to drive the intruders away.
Tiger frog is a cold-blooded variable temperature animal, there is no constant body temperature, not only low body temperature, but also often changes with the change of ambient temperature. When the temperature drops more in cloudy and rainy days, it will stop feeding temporarily, and the growth rate will slow down or even stop. It hibernates through the cold winter, and before entering hibernation, there is often an active feeding in the early stage of overwintering, when it preys in large quantities to store nutrients for overwintering.
Where are the tiger frogs distributed?
Tiger frog is widely distributed in Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Hunan, Hubei, Anhui, Guangdong, Guangxi, Guizhou, Fujian, Taiwan, Yunnan, Jiangxi, Hainan, Shanghai, Henan, Chongqing, Sichuan and southern Shaanxi. It is also found in South and Southeast Asia abroad.
What does the tiger frog eat?
There are many kinds of food for tiger frogs, which mainly feed on Coleoptera insects, accounting for about 36% of the food. Others include Hemiptera, Lepidoptera, Diptera, Hymenoptera, Homoptera, spiders, earthworms, polypods, shrimp, crabs, Loach, and animal carcasses. It is hard to believe that it also eats frogs such as frogs, black-spotted frogs and mice, and they play an important role in the food of tiger frogs. It seems that it not only has a tiger pattern, but also is a well-known "tiger" among frogs.
What's the difference between a frog and a frog?
Frogs are black spot frogs; frogs are tiger striped frogs.
The pheasant is not a wild frog, the tiger frog is the real frog. Because the black spot frog (frog) and the tiger frog are difficult to observe without careful distinction, and the two are somewhat similar, the frog has become the name of the frog among southerners.
The difference between the black-spotted frog and the tiger-striped frog is more difficult: the tiger-striped frog can be more than 100 mm long, with yellow-green-brown on the back, irregular markings on the back, white on the ventral side, and horizontal spots on the front and hind legs. The skin is rough and there are many warts on the back; the length of the black-spotted frog is 70mm to 80mm. The back is yellow-green, dark green, gray-green or slightly grayish brown, scattered with black spots. There is a golden yellow or light brown fold on the dorsal side, and there are 4-6 skin edges of different length if broken. There is often a light-colored ridge line from the end of the kiss to the anus and the skin is smooth.
