It is a perennial herbaceous bulbous plant in the lily family, which is deeply loved by the public. what are the breeding methods and matters needing attention of the lilies? How many times a year do you bloom? How long is the florescence?
There are many varieties of lilies. They are simply divided into white lilies, pink lilies, red lilies and yellow lilies by color. Some white lilies and pink lilies usually have a strong aroma, also known as perfume lilies. There are about 100 kinds of lilies planted in China, and about 10 kinds of lilies are edible.
The Culture method of Lily
Basic knowledge
The best propagation time of lily is from September to October.
The best growth soil: Lily is suitable to grow in slightly acidic sandy loam with rich humus and good drainage, but not in dry calcareous soil.
Growth humidity requirements: the relative humidity should be 80% 85%, and the relative humidity should avoid too much fluctuation, otherwise leaf burning may occur.
The best growth temperature: the temperature of lily growth and flowering is 16024 ℃, the growth is almost stopped below 5 ℃ or above 30 ℃, the plants grow normally only when the plant is above 10 ℃, and stagnate when it exceeds 25 ℃.
The best growth light: Lily likes the sunny environment, the length of light time not only affects the differentiation of flower buds, but also affects the growth and development of flowers. Therefore, it is recommended to put a place with plenty of light for breeding.
Key points of cultivation
1. Take musk lily as an example: Musk lily can be cultivated in open field, pot or greenhouse in warm areas of South China. When lily is cultivated in open field or greenhouse, cold climate, moist, ventilated and semi-shaded environment should be chosen for planting. A rich sandy loam with good permeability and deep soil layer. The soil should be disinfected before planting. In order to enrich the bulb, the residual flowers should be cut off in time after flowering to reduce nutrient consumption. Watering only needs to keep the pot soil moist, but it should be watered properly during the peak growing season and dry weather, and often sprinkle water around the flowerpot to improve air humidity. Pot soil should not be too wet, otherwise bulbs are easy to rot, potted lilies change pots once a year and replace them with new culture soil and base fertilizer. In addition, the flowerpot should be turned once a week during the growing period. Otherwise, the plant is easy to be too long, affecting the appearance.
2. Soil selection: the suitable planting period of lily in open field is from August to September. Potted plants should be planted from September to October. Pot culture soil is made of rotten leaf soil, coarse sand and vegetable garden soil according to the ratio of 3 ∶ 2 ∶ 5. Appropriate amount of plant ash, humic chicken feces, pigeon droppings, pig manure, or 3-5 grams of compound fertilizer can be applied. Large bulbous species in the open field, the planting depth is 12 cm, and the row spacing is 10 cm 15 cm × 20 cm. The soil should be kept moist after planting, and the new buds should be broken in 20-30 days.
3, flowerpot selection: pot planting bottom with coarse sand or cinder block bedding 3cm thick as drainage layer, it is appropriate to use a deep basin, pot diameter 20cm 25cm flowerpot can grow 2 balls. Pot planting or box planting should be managed in a cool environment as far as possible. shade nets or grass curtains can also be used to avoid direct sunlight and properly watered, dry and wet.
4. high temperature season management: pay attention to ventilation to make the seedlings grow healthily. In the high temperature season in summer, water was sprayed on the leaves for 2 or 3 times at noon every day to prevent the growth from being affected by the soil temperature exceeding 30 ℃.
5. Fertilization: topdressing 23 times 20 days after planting. During the growing period, it is appropriate to apply rotten peanut bran fertilizer every 15 days, or to apply synthetic fertilizer or urea, 1 ~ 1.5 kg per 100 square meters, and 1 kg of potassium oxide-magnesium oxide sulfate. Synthetic fertilizer should be applied in 2 ~ 3 months and after flowering, and fluorine-containing and alkaline fertilizer should not be applied, otherwise leaf burning is easy to occur. If iron deficiency is found, 0.2% ~ 0.3% ferrous sulfate solution should be sprayed in time. From budding to flowering, 0.2% ~ 0.3% potassium dihydrogen phosphate solution was sprayed every 15 days, and quick-acting fertilizer rich in phosphorus and potassium was applied for 1 to 2 times after flower cutting.
The potted plant was fertilized every two months from February to July, and the fertilizer was the same as that of open planting. Plate caliber 20 cm, plate application amount of about 5 grams, after application to shallow loose plate soil, the fertilizer mixed into the plate soil. The retted rice washing water can be mixed with water root application, 0.1 urea and special fertilizer solution for flowers can also be applied twice a month. Winter temperature dropped to 5: 8 ℃ once a month, below 5 ℃ to stop fertilization, to wait for the temperature to rise again. From late February to early March, 8 grams of superphosphate or bone powder were applied to the topsoil at the edge of the plate. From bud to flowering, 0.2% potassium dihydrogen phosphate, a small amount of borax, magnesium nitrate, etc., or special fertilizer for flowers should not be applied at flowering stage, and nutrient liquid fertilizer can be applied twice a month after flowering, which can keep stems and leaves green and promote the growth of new underground bulbs.
Matters needing attention in cultivating lilies
Fertilizer application: lilies do not have high requirements for fertilizer, usually at the beginning of spring growth and the early stage of flowering. Phosphate fertilizer can be applied twice at flowering stage.
Reproduction points: Lily reproduction has asexual reproduction and sexual reproduction.
1. Asexual reproduction: there are mainly three kinds of production: scale propagation, bulb propagation and bulblet propagation.
2. Sexual reproduction: mature seeds will be collected in autumn. Sowing seeds in the seedbed can produce bulbs in the next autumn. This method has the advantages of long time, changeable species and less use in production.
Watering essentials: watering is usually chosen on a sunny morning. Watering only needs to keep the pot soil moist, but it should be watered frequently during the peak growing season and dry weather, and water is often sprinkled around the flowerpot to improve air humidity.
Pruning essentials:
The main results are as follows: (1) Lily needs to pick flower buds, and because of the high level of fertilizer and water management and large individual bulbs, flower buds are easy to appear in the growth of diseased plants.
(2) after seeing the bud, it should be picked in time to prevent the consumption of nutrition and promote the growth and expansion of the bulb.
(3) in the later stage, the leaves of corn below the ear on the ridge should be knocked out.
(4) the residual flowers should be cut off in time after flowering in order to reduce nutrient consumption.
Pot soil replacement: potted lilies change pots once a year and replace them with new culture soil and base fertilizer. First of all, dig gently along the four sides with a small shovel, and be careful not to break the stems in the soil. After digging it out, turn the soil over, then fill the half of the flowerpot, put it into the newly dug lily stem, and finally cover it with about 6 centimeters of soil.
Pest control:
(1) penicilliosis. Prevention and treatment: store the bulbs at the recommended minimum temperature and do not plant bulbs whose bases have been compromised. Susceptible bulbs must be soaked in 1/1000 carbendan, chlorothalonil, carbendazim and other fungicides for 30 minutes before planting. After planting, maintain the appropriate soil temperature.
(2) bulb, scale rot and stem diseases caused by Fusarium. Prevention and treatment: a, disinfect the infected soil; b, plant those lightly or moderately infected bulbs as soon as possible, and the soil temperature should be low.
(3) Rhizoctonia. Prevention and treatment: disinfect suspected infected soil with soil disinfectants. After disinfection, the soil must be protected from infection, and if the previous crop has been infected, ordinary soil disinfectants cannot be applied, then the soil must be treated with Rhizoctonia sclerotiorum before planting and completely infiltrate into the soil 10cm depth.
(4) Phytophthora. Prevention and treatment: disinfect infected soil with general soil disinfectants, and use fungicides to control Pythium during cultivation can also effectively control foot rot, ensure that the soil has good drainage conditions and prevent crops from being moist for a long time after watering. The soil temperature should be as low as possible in summer.
(5) Pythium. Prevention and treatment: disinfect infected or suspected infected soil with general soil disinfectants, keep the soil temperature low at the beginning of cultivation, and adopt correct cultivation steps throughout the cultivation period. Cultivation in boxes filled with potted soil and peat can control Pythium.
How many months does the lily bloom?
The flowering time of lilies is generally from April to July, and the white lilies are generally in full bloom in July. However, the flowering time of lilies depends not only on the variety, but also on the planting time. The whole growth process takes 120 to 150 days, and the earlier it is planted, the earlier it blossoms.
Blossom several times a year
Lilies bloom only once a year in their natural state. However, if you think of intervention, it is not impossible to blossom twice a year, but at the cost of harming the bulbs.
The specific method: after the lily has withered, cut off the stalk, keep 2-3 leaves, water properly, wait for the ground part to wither, dig out the seed ball, wrap it with soil, put it in the fresh-keeping layer of the refrigerator, and replant it after 1-2 months. After growing leaves, it will slowly blossom!
How long does the lily bloom?
In the first case, the cut flower lily bought by the florist.
Buying a bunch of lilies in a vase and decorating the house is the effect that many flower lovers want, but how long does a bunch of lilies last? The second case is the flowering period of potted lilies.
In fact, no matter whether the potted plant or the cut flower, the real flowering period is the same, the difference is that the potted lily we will see the flower wither all the time from the time of the flower bone, if you count from this time, the flowering period will be very long, about three weeks.
