Pet mink, also known as Anglo mink, is divided into many kinds, because its size is similar to that of domestic cats, so many people like to keep one, but pet minks belong to the vole breed, so they must master skills when raising them. Is that pet mink suitable for domestic breeding? How much is it usually? How long will you live? How to raise it?

Is it suitable for domestication?

Pet mink is absolutely suitable for domestic animals, because pet mink is a very smart animal, IQ and human 4-year-old level, but also relatively long life, generally up to more than 10 years, is definitely a good choice to accompany you. Moreover, pet minks have good living habits and do not take up much of the owner's time. They are quiet by nature, do not like to be noisy like cats and dogs, and do not have to take them out for a walk. They can also go to the toilet obediently. I'm a good baby who doesn't have to worry about it at all.

However, it is worth noting that when buying, you should never buy it in a pet store, because now pet minks are farmed, pet shops cannot breed, and every pet mink has to undergo deodorization and sterilization surgery when it is purchased. Otherwise, the smell of minks may make you uncomfortable.

Price quotation:

Pet minks, like cats and dogs, have different breeds and different colors, and they are the main factors that determine the price of Anglo pet minks. Angora has more than 40 subdivisions of coat colors. Most pet stores don't have such a full range, but better pet stores can order them at prices ranging from 1000 to 20000 depending on the color of the coat. For example, Albino white, all white hair, pupils are red, do not allow the existence of miscellaneous hair. In fact, this kind of coat color is a kind of albino phenomenon, the quantity is also relatively rare. So the price is expensive and it is difficult to raise.

How long do you usually live?

The average life expectancy of pet mink is 10 ~ 12 years, and it is said that the longest can reach 15 years. Pet mink is strongly recommended to be fed special mink food because of its short digestive tract.

Pet minks live as long as cats and dogs and can accompany their owners for more than ten years. The young mink is naughty and lively and active. After the age of five, they begin to become quiet. But gentle and quiet, they still like to play with their masters and ask for more love from their masters. They will climb on your lap while you are watching TV, let you touch their belly and fall asleep.

Some people also say that pet minks live an average of 6 to 10 years, while others live longer. Pet minks need to be vaccinated against canine distemper and rabies every year and see a veterinarian regularly. In some areas where mosquitoes are rampant, canine filariasis needs special attention. Other common problems include intestinal obstruction (caused by eating foreign bodies or hair masses), kidney disease (causing itching or alopecia areata), insulomas and other intestinal diseases. Pet minks can also catch colds in humans and fleas in cats and dogs. At the age of six months, minks should be sterilized to avoid health and odor problems.

At present, the common pet minks in China are Angora pet minks introduced from Denmark and Marsher pet minks from the United States, but their market share is very low because of their small number. These pet minks also live between 8 and 12 years.

Matters needing attention in culture:

1. The structure of the digestive system of pet minks is completely different from that of cats and dogs. Their digestive tract is very short. For this reason, they go to the toilet more frequently. And owners must not let them eat cat food or dog food for a long time.

2. Pet minks cost more than 100 yuan a month. Pet minks are carnivores, and steamed bread and rice can't get rid of them. Eat mink food, use bath products and so on, spend 120 ~ 150 yuan a month.

3. Minks have a good memory and love to be clean, so when they are young, they concentrate on training, use a special toilet tray for minks and install mink sand, so it is not difficult to achieve the desired results.

4. Young pet minks are naughty, lively and active. Angelu minks can be domesticated, have a higher IQ than cats and dogs, and are even as smart as two-and-a-half-year-old children. They can usually teach them to do many difficult movements, such as rolling around on the ground.

5. Anglu is as clean as a cat, likes to curl up to sleep and is smart. At the same time, he is as close as a dog and likes to run around with his master, especially when he is curious about everything, unafraid and depressed, full of spirit of exploration and adding endless fun to his master's life.

6. Pet minks should be immunized between 8 and 12 weeks after birth. According to the relevant national regulations and animal protection principles, minks should at least be immunized with rabies vaccine. If you want minks to be healthier, it is also a good idea to be vaccinated against small dogs and warm dogs. After that, the mink should be immunized regularly every year to ensure the immune level of the mink.

7. Pet minks are not allowed to eat foods such as milk, chocolate, plants and raw meat.

8. As the time for food to pass through the mink is only 23 hours, it is suggested that the feed should be divided into morning and evening feeding according to the principle of a small amount of meals. Young minks eat less each time, so it would be better to divide them into five or eight times. Young minks less than half a year old should not be fed dry food because their teeth and intestines and stomach are not fully developed. The feed can be soaked in water before feeding, so that the nutrition can be better absorbed.

9. Pet mink is a kind of polar animal, which is relatively cold-resistant, but has no sweat glands and has poor heat resistance. To this day, they are still sensitive to heat. Generally speaking, 25 degrees Celsius is the temperature at which they feel comfortable, and the maximum temperature should not exceed 30 degrees Celsius. High temperatures can cause heatstroke, heat exhaustion, and even death. Owners should be careful not to put mink cages or nests in air vents or in places where the sun can shine directly, and not near air conditioners or heaters. The appropriate humidity for minks should be kept at 50% to 70%.
