Last Updated: 2024/11/06, Firecracker flower is also called firecracker flower, this plant is a very characteristic vine flower, when its flowers are in full bloom, it looks like a string of firecrackers from a distance. Its florescence is from January to June, longer, can be planted in a corner of the courtyard, or by the fence for ornamental, you can also plant in the sun, let it grow along your balcony railing. Many friends have encountered the phenomenon of yellow leaves when raising it. What is the reason for this?

1. Too much water

In the maintenance of plants, although the roots in the soil, but also need to breathe, if watering, the pot appears ponding or too wet, will lead to the roots in a "suffocating" state, and at this time the roots can not absorb water and nutrients to supply the leaves of the plant, so the leaves are easily yellowed.

Solution: Put the plants in a well-ventilated and sunny place and evaporate the water from the soil as soon as possible. Although its growth requires a lot of water, watering cannot be blind. For example, when it rains on cloudy days, water should be reduced, or water should be suspended directly; watering should also be reduced during flower bud growth period; try to choose a place with better ventilation when placing, so as to reduce moisture retention.

2. Insufficient nutrients

This flower grows fast and has many flowers and leaves, so it needs plenty of nutrients. If the nutrients are insufficient for a long time, the leaves will appear yellow. It is important to note that we need to increase the amount of fertilizer applied before flowering, because at this time, the flowering of flowers will consume a lot of nutrients, once the amount of nutrients is not enough to supply the leaves, it will turn yellow.

Solution: When planting, we should choose soil with sufficient nutrients; fertilization should be carried out once every 15 days or so during the growing period. An extra dressing of fertilizer before flowering ensures that the nutrients in the leaves are not absorbed by the flowers when they bloom.
