How much is a kowtow bug?

It is understood that the price of kowtow worms is now worthless. After catching from spring to autumn, burn to death in boiling water and dry in the sun.

What do kowtowing beetles like to eat?

Kowtow beetles often drill under the ground to gnaw on the seeds, roots and stems of plants. Kowtowing beetles are widely distributed and do great harm to wheat, corn, sorghum, upland rice, millet, potato rice, cotton, vegetables and other crops. The most common ones are trench kowtow beetle and brown stripe kowtow. Irrigation can prevent and eliminate kowtowing beetles.

Morphological characteristics of larvae: adult kowtowing worms are generally dark in color, slender or flat in shape, and have comb-like or serrated antennae. There is a claw on the lower side of the chest, which can be extended into the chest when under pressure. When the kowtow bug lies on its back, if it suddenly hits its claws, the kowtow bug will bounce and jump back. The larvae are cylindrical, hard, waxy yellow or brown on the body surface, with two pairs of appendages at the end and 13~20mm in length. According to different species, the larval stage is 1-3 years, the pupa is in the soil chamber, and the pupa stage is about 3 weeks.

Life habits: it mainly harms the roots and stems of corn seedlings underground. There are three kinds of golden needle beetles: Golden needle beetle, thin chest golden needle worm and brown needle beetle, and their larvae are collectively called golden needle worm, among which golden needle worm is the most widely distributed. During the damage, the newly unearthed seedlings can be bitten off, or they can be fed into the roots of the grown seedlings, and the damage is not complete.

Bite off, break the irregular agent. It can also drill larger seeds, tubers and roots into holes, and the injured plants will dry up and die. Golden needle worms pupate from August to September, the pupal period is about 20 days, and become adults in September, that is, overwintering in the soil, and unearthed from March to April of the following year. The activity of golden needle worm is closely related to soil temperature, humidity and the growth period of host plants. The time of damage caused by the rising topsoil coincided with the sowing to seedling stage of spring corn.

How to prevent and cure kowtow bugs?

1. Mix seeds with 40% chlorpyrifos 100 times.

2. At the seedling stage, 40% chlorpyrifos or 40% phoxim can be mixed with an appropriate amount of fried wheat bran or bean cake to make poison bait, which can be sprinkled into the base of corn in the evening and can be killed by making use of the habit of underground pests sleeping during the day and going out at night.

3. Corn can choose coated seeds, and wheat can be mixed with 40% isomalidophos 100 ml plus 2.5 kg of water and 50 kg.
