The skin, bone and meat of Swertia are of high edible and medicinal value, especially the extract of milk lump "Swertia" extracted from the glandular stomach of young Swertia can not only treat indigestion, but also protect against cold and improve disease resistance. In recent years, the aquaculture market of Swertia is becoming more and more tight, so how does Swertia breed artificially? What are the breeding methods, techniques and matters needing attention?

What kind of feed does Swertia eat?

Swertia is an omnivorous animal, which provides convenience for artificial breeding of Swertia. Wild Swertia feeds on the tender stems, leaves, flowers, fruits and seeds of shrubs and weeds, and often eats vegetables, legume crops, potato leaves, wheat leaves and so on. There are more than 100 kinds of wild plants for Swertia to eat, including monocotyledons (narrow leaves) and dicotyledons (broad leaves), but if there is plenty of green fodder, it should be picky. In feeding, ryegrass, bitter cabbage, sweet potato vine, lettuce leaves, mulberry leaves, structural leaves should be eaten. Mountain kudzu leaves, salt wood and other broad-leaf plants like Swertia angustifolia most. When raising Swertia, you can choose varieties that are easy to grow locally or which are rich in wild resources and easy to collect. Feed collocation can be diversified, malnutrition can also regularly supplement a certain amount of animal feed such as: fish meal, bone meal (but can not be used more, especially young deer, because young deer eating these viscous concentrates are prone to intestinal obstruction, nutritional supplement is generally better with bean cake); mineral feed such as: shell powder, salt; sometimes also give some vitamins. Under normal circumstances, it is usually given some salt at most, usually based on forage.

The food intake of adult Swertia ranges from 1.5 to 3 kg per day and night, mainly fresh fodder. When fresh fodder is less in winter, concentrate, bean dregs, bran, rice bran, barley flour, and bean cake can be added as concentrates. At the same time, winter can also use summer air-dried storage of green materials, summer and autumn dry storage should pay attention to: leaf green materials must be collected in sunny days, then spread out to dry, must be placed in a dry and ventilated place, to avoid damp mildew, can be stacked storage. Take good care of the spare dry feed, pay attention to cleanliness and hygiene, turn over and check regularly to prevent moth and rat bites.

Second, how to grow Swertia Feed?

General feed preparation: ryegrass was planted in early September and supply began in late November. The Beginning of Spring planted bitter vegetables in February, supplied in early May, planted sweet potatoes in May, and began to supply in July. Each kind of forage can be eaten in more than one crop. In the middle of May, the female deer should give birth to some nutrients in advance so that the milk of the female deer is adequate.

Of course, you can also adopt a variety of modes, and the following methods can also be used:

Feed all the year round: (starting with the time when Swertia was born) May-June, mainly lettuce leaves, and fed carrots. Lettuce leaves eat, carrots are also roots, leaves eat. Potato stem from July to September; potato root from October to November; bean dregs from late November to April, mainly soybean dregs and wheat bran, and fed with ryegrass and forage. Bean dregs and bran can be fed all the year round, and other foods change with the seasons and the preferences of the deer. Prepare the feed with this recipe.

If you plant more peanuts or soybeans, these two plants can not only be used as green fodder at ordinary times, but also can be dried in the sun as feed in winter. Because you do not know the distribution of plants, can not tell one by one, generally speaking, broad-leaf plants can eat, but generally broad bean leaves it does not like to eat. It is suggested that you can try more when you breed in the future.

Third, the feeding mode of Swertia

Feeding can be done in a variety of ways, generally using the following two.

1. Stable maintenance

Generally speaking, a deer can provide a place of three square meters (such as two meters long and one and a half meters wide). It can be raised alone or together. A group of deer, male and female, can provide a place of ten square meters. If there is enough space, a little more is fine. The bottom of the stable generally needs to be covered with some forage or straw (cut off). From the aspect of ensuring health, the deer raised by the stable should also consider releasing the deer to the activity ground regularly and basking in the sun.

2. Bulk breeding

According to the number of deer, decide the size of the enclosure, build a wall around it, and build some cubicles along the wall for shelter from the wind and rain, as well as a workshop.

Which way to raise, depends on our needs, taking Swertia milk, or other uses, the feeding method can be slightly different.
