At present, bee products are widely used in diet, beauty, industrial, medical and other aspects, many novices want to try to raise bees, so for beginners, what beekeeping skills need to be paid attention to? How does the queen bee judge his age by his appearance? How to control cockroaches in beehives?

First, how does the queen bee judge his age by his appearance?

The age of the queen bee is particularly important in the process of beekeeping. In actual beekeeping, we usually keep a colony strong for a long time by constantly changing a young queen bee. If we want a colony to be strong for a long time, the age of the queen bee is particularly important.

In fact, the life of a queen bee is not long, generally only 3 to 5 years, and the real life for our production and use is no more than two years, the real effective is about one year.

The queen bee is the main breeder in the colony, and sometimes a lot of changes take place in a day, so we can judge the youth of a queen bee in a short time:

1. For example, our queen bee who just got out of the house, we can judge the age of the queen bee recently.

2. For example, if the queen bee begins to test flight, then the age of the queen bee is about three days. If mating begins, then the age of the queen bee is about a week. If the queen bee begins to lay eggs, it means that the queen bee is about 10 days old.

This is roughly judged according to the production cycle of a queen bee. At this time, the queen bee grows from small to big, and finally appears the floc left by the mating of the tail. In the later stage, the abdomen becomes larger and the pace is steady.

3. In addition, it can be judged by the queen's feathers. As we all know, when the queen bee comes out of the room, there is a lot of fluff on the abdomen, and the color of the queen bee just out of the room is not so dark, the tail is not shiny, and the individual size is about the same as that of drones. This change takes only a few hours, and after a few hours, the fluff on the queen bee's abdomen begins to become dark and shiny, which is roughly the basic characteristic of an one-day-old queen bee, so we can only judge the queen's short-term age. And they are all queen bees within a month.

So how can we judge the age of a queen bee that is more than a month old?

In fact, for a spawning king, as long as he is still laying eggs normally, there is almost no way to determine his exact age, but only roughly. If the queen bee lays eggs vigorously and is a natural queen, it means that the age of the queen bee is not more than two years. If it is an artificial queen, most of them are queen bees within a year, and it may only take a few months to build a queen bee. Of course, this is not absolute, because whether it is the king of emergency or the king of nature, it is possible to have a high-quality queen bee.

For the elderly queen bee, it is usually more than two years, and the artificial queen may only have a year or so. We can roughly determine from the shape of the queen bee. As we all know, the queen bee puts its tail into the nest to lay eggs, so the more the queen bee lays eggs, the less fluff the tail will have, and the tail will shine as if it were oiled, indicating that the queen bee is old and may be more than two years old.

Second, how to control cockroaches in beehives?

The movable box tripod is used to prevent the beehive from coming into direct contact with the ground, thus preventing insects such as ants and cockroaches from climbing directly into the box, and the box cover is covered with a tin lid. At the same time, it protects the lid of the beehive from cracking due to thermal expansion and cold shrinkage caused by high temperature such as direct exposure to sunlight while preventing Rain Water from infiltrating.
