When raising pigs, too high feeding density, poor ventilation and heat prevention and cooling measures, improper feed preparation, poor health management, weak basic immunity, inadequate disinfection measures and lax epidemic prevention and isolation measures can increase the chance of pig disease. So what are the common pig diseases and treatments from May to August?

Heatstroke, bite rack

Pigs are prone to heatstroke because of the hot summer weather.

Due to lack of drinking water, poor ventilation and so on, it may also lead to bites.

First aid measures:

First of all, heat stroke or pigs bitten should be quickly transferred to a ventilated and cool place.

1. Cold water therapy:

The body temperature of heatstroke pigs generally rises, and the neck and body surface of heatstroke pigs are irrigated with cold water, or rectum is perfused with cold water to cool down until the body temperature of heatstroke pigs drops to 38 ℃-39.5 ℃.

2. Bloodletting therapy:

After the occurrence of acute heatstroke in pigs, heatstroke pigs should be quickly transferred to a ventilated and cool place. Blood can be bled at the tip of the ear or tail of heatstroke pigs. If necessary, 200-500 ml of 0.9% normal saline can be injected intravenously.

3. Use glacier VC to drink 2000 jin of water for free drinking.

Second, gastrointestinal flatulence

Due to the influence of temperature and humidity in summer, pigs are prone to flatulence caused by clostridium welchii.

First aid measures:

1. Treatment of diseased pigs with mild flatulence and restlessness:

Individual diseased pigs were injected with metronidazole and sodium bicarbonate intravenously, lincomycin (0.1 ml / kg body weight) and amikacin (0.1 ml / kg body weight) were injected intramuscularly, once or twice a day, electrolytic multivitamin was added to the feed, and about 50% of the diseased pigs were fed.

The group was mixed with Daguan-lincomycin for 5-7 days.

2. Obvious treatment of flatulence:

Between the penultimate third ribs on the left side of the pig, put a long needle parallel to the back and inject 10% lincomycin (0.1 ml / kg body weight) and 10% amikacin (0.1 ml / kg body weight) in the deflated position. Metronidazole and sodium bicarbonate intravenous drip.

III. Vaccine response

Because of the hot weather, vaccine reactions are more likely to occur during vaccine immunization.

The symptoms are as follows: body temperature rises to 40-41.5 ℃, redness, vomiting, foaming at the mouth, chills, convulsions, wheezing, and faster breathing.

First aid method:

1. Those with mild allergic reaction:

Avoid pig huddling and squeeze and strengthen ventilation. Can not be injected with anti-allergic injection drugs, drinking water to add vitamin C, electrolytic multi-dimensional, glucose free drinking water.

2. For moderate and severe allergic reactions:

It usually occurs about 20 minutes after vaccination, and the status of pigs should be observed after vaccination. Once an allergic reaction is found, desensitization first aid measures should be carried out in time.

(1) when the body temperature is normal, vitamin C 0.2-0.5 g, epinephrine injection 1-2 ml or dexamethasone 4-12 mg can be injected intramuscularly, and the heavy ones can be injected with the same dose again 6-8 hours later, which can slowly return to normal.

(2) if the body temperature exceeds 40 ℃, aminopyrine 50-200mg and diamide 4-12mg can be injected intramuscularly.

Fourth, mildew feed poisoning

Summer weather is muggy, feed is prone to mildew, easy to cause porcine mycotoxin poisoning.

After poisoning, the piglets developed red and swollen legs and vulva.

Medium and large pigs have loss of appetite, rough coat and varying degrees of diarrhea.

Empty sows are not in estrus and are often infertile.

Pregnant sows vulva, vaginal edema, severe vaginal prolapse, breast enlargement, premature delivery, stillbirth, abortion and weak baby and so on.

First aid method:

Stop feeding moldy feed immediately and add mildew remover or mycotoxin decomposing agent to the feed for 10-15 days.

The addition of glucose to drinking water can protect the liver and kidney.

It is easy to bleed and difficult to give birth in summer.

In summer, sows are more likely to have dystocia, so correct first aid measures must be taken to ensure that dystocia sows will not die because of dystocia.

First aid method:

Some sows have dystocia due to uterine contraction. In the early stage of dystocia, we can use 10-50 units of oxytocin intramuscular injection to promote uterine contraction and give birth. If the sow does not give birth after 1-3 hours of oxytocin, it means that the sow has no uterine contractions. It is necessary to use artificial midwifery first aid.

After thoroughly washing the arm with soapy water, rinse off the soapy water with cold water, put on disposable aseptic long-arm gloves and apply lubricant, then put your fingers together (cut your nails without scratching the birth canal), rotate gently in the birth canal and slowly reach into the birth canal.

Touch the pig stuck in the mouth of the uterus, if you touch the head, you can separate the five fingers, index finger and middle finger behind the pig's 2 ears, thumb ring finger little finger together, slowly pull the pig out. If you touch the hind legs, also separate the five fingers, put the two hind legs of the pig in the middle of the index finger and the middle finger and the ring finger, and then close together, gently pull the pig out.

Immediately after pulling out, remove the oral and nasal mucus of the piglets, keep warm and suck colostrum in time; sows are injected with houttuynia cordata (0.1 ml / kg) + ceftiofur (5 mg / kg) intramuscularly, and feed is mixed with motherwort biochemical powder to avoid infection, electrolytic multi-dimensional is added to drinking water to resist stress and enhance resistance.
