1. Breeding site

You can prepare a storage box or a glass tank. If the turtle tank is not round, it will make the turtle lose its way; put an escape in the tank and add a water circulation system to change the water frequently without conditions; and there should be a drying table in the tank so that the turtle can climb up to bask in the sun. Novice turtles do not buy too small turtles, buy them back and rest in shallow water for 3 days, observe whether they are sick, and start feeding three days later.

2. Food feeding

Turtles eat a wide range of food, whether it is rice, wheat, peas, or small fish, shrimp, insects, pork and so on. For the sake of balanced nutrition, do not feed a single food, but mix it with it; for good digestion, corn, peas, pork, etc., should be crushed or chopped and fed; in order not to get sick, the food should be kept fresh and the remaining leftovers should be removed in time. If it is the spring and autumn season, it should be fed at 8am to 9am; if it is summer, it should be fed at 16pm to 17pm; if it is winter, the tortoise should hibernate and can stop feeding. When feeding food, you should pay attention to fixed points and quantitative feeding, usually once a day or two.

3. Daily management

When the tortoise first came, there should be water in the tortoise tank, which was generally slightly higher than the back of the tortoise; the water was generally constant and could not be hot and cold; the water could not be used directly from the tap water, but it would be better to be under the sun for two days first; it should be changed frequently, usually once every two or three days, and only 2/3 of the water should be changed when changing; do not feed in the water, it will pollute the water environment. Turtles need to bask in the sun, the sun time should not be too long, basically bask in 15-20 minutes, do not expose. Turtles can also get sick, so we should pay attention to prevention and control.

Third, how to identify the age of the tortoise?

The life span of a tortoise is very long. How to identify its age? There are several ways to estimate only the approximate age of the tortoise.

1. Look at the abdominal spot: turn the tortoise over and look at its abdominal spot. There are round lines on each abdominal spot, and one circle represents a year.

2. Look at the tortoise shell: turtles generally have thirteen shells, each of which has a circle, and one circle represents a year.

3. Weighing: about 15g is 1 year old, 50g is 2 years old, 100g is 3 years old, 200g is 4 years old.

4. Look at the color: if the back lines of the tortoise are dark and clear, they will be older, and vice versa.
