Compared with the careful work of raising fish, it can be said that raising turtles is much easier, but despite the fact that turtles are easy to raise, these little guys are also famous for their "stubborn temper." now it is winter, and turtles are going into hibernation one after another. so how can turtles survive the winter safely? What do you eat that grows fast?

What does the tortoise eat to grow fast?

1. "eating" should be done well

Turtles are not very picky about eating, but only if you let them eat when you start raising them. What do you mean? As mentioned earlier, the tortoise is a stubborn temper. when I buy it home to a new environment, it is very difficult for the tortoise to eat. If it refuses to eat, then it will not be willing to eat even if it starves to death.

How do you eat? The following method can be used as a reference according to the actual situation of your little turtle.

Put the turtles in the sun, let them relax and "feel happy" (turtles are animals that like to bask in the sun very much), and put the food directly next to the turtles, not too close or too far. then the breeder does not stare at the tortoise all the time, you can go away.

If you refuse to eat when you are in the sun, you can try to put it in the water. In short, each tortoise has its own temperament. Breeders should explore the life rules of their own turtles, and the most important thing is to make them feel "safe."

2. Tortoise food recommendation

Turtles are not picky about food, basically they eat whatever you feed, such as raw pig liver, raw lean meat, green vegetables, lettuce, cabbage, carrot shrimp skin, small fish, snails, red worms, small Loach and so on. In addition, you can also go to the market to buy special feed for turtles.

Once a day, the food fed each time is about the same size as the head of the tortoise. The tortoise does not feel full. If you keep feeding it, it is easy to get sick.

Second, how to raise turtles to survive the winter safely?

Turtles in the south generally go into hibernation around mid-late November, while turtles in the north begin to hibernate around mid-October.

1. Check the health of the tortoise

If a sick or emaciated tortoise hibernates, it is likely to sleep forever, because during hibernation, the tortoise shuts down its organs to reduce physical consumption. Also make sure that your turtle is in the habit of hibernating.

2. Clean the intestines and stomach before hibernation

The turtle can be soaked in warm water for 30 minutes every day about a week before hibernation to avoid rectal infarction during hibernation.

3. Ensure the hibernation temperature

If you plan to hibernate turtles, you need to make sure they live at a temperature of 7-10 ℃. If you don't want turtles to hibernate, just keep the temperature at 22-30 ℃.

4. Don't bother too much

Turtles do need to bask in the sun when hibernating, but it is best to stay in the sun with the feeding utensils, and try not to disturb their hibernation as much as possible, which can easily lead to their hibernation and death.
