Maggots are the larvae of flies, and they often appear in places that make everyone want to feel sick. But it is a very good feed. So, what are the techniques of maggot culture?

I. preparation of maggot breeding rooms

1. The fly room is specially used for raising adults, generally 20-40 square meters, and can be rebuilt using the old house, which can also save costs. Screen doors and screen windows should be installed in the house to prevent flight.

2. The maggot greenhouse is specially used to cultivate maggots used as protein feed. It can be built into a simple shed, as long as it is windproof and waterproof.

3. The house should be surrounded by 1-meter-high screen windows to prevent animals such as chickens and ducks from entering. The aquaculture pond requires a simple cement pool, each with an area of 1.5 square meters ~ 2 square meters and a pool edge of 20 centimeters.

2. Manure fermentation

In general, 1 kg such as gold fecal starter can ferment 1.5 tons of feces (about 3 tons of fresh feces). The starter should be mixed and diluted with rice bran (or cornmeal or wheat bran) at 1:5, evenly sprinkled into the dung heap and mixed evenly. Adjust the moisture content of the fermentation material to 60% to 65%.

Judgment method: hold on to a handful of material by hand, and if you see the watermark in your fingers without dripping, it is appropriate to disperse when you land on the ground. The dung mixed with gold fecal starter should not be too small (1.2 to 1.5 meters high, 2 meters wide and 2 meters long). In the process of fermentation, attention should be paid to turning it over 2 times for 3 times and controlling the temperature at about 65 degrees Celsius. Generally, fermentation can be completed within one week.

Third, the hatching and cultivation of fly maggots

1. The hatching of pupa. Put the Eclosion tray into the fly cage and tie the work mouth tightly. as long as the appropriate temperature and humidity are ensured, the flies can be feathered into flies after 3-4 days.

2. Temperature and humidity requirements. The most suitable temperature for general fly species is 25 ℃-30 ℃, and the air relative humidity is 50% 80%. If the temperature is low in winter, it is necessary to turn on the heater to increase the temperature, and if possible, you can also set up the air conditioner, which can be feathered into flies in two days when the temperature is about 36 degrees.

Finally, maggot breeding must pay attention to temperature and humidity, should be adjusted according to the actual situation. Only in this way can the quality of fly maggots be guaranteed.
