So, what is the breeding method of field snail? Let's get to know it together. The main results are as follows: 1. The snail in selected breeding sites has strong resistance, less disease and reproduction rate.

The species of field snail is rich, which is distributed in most parts of our country, and it is also a delicacy on people's dinner table. So, what is the breeding method of field snail? Let's get to know it together.

1. Select sites for breeding

The field snail has strong resistance, few diseases, high reproduction rate, and low requirements for breeding places. Many ditches, paddy fields and ponds in rural areas can be stocked. If they are cultured in open ponds, red duckweed, duckweed, water hyacinth and other shade can be released on the water surface, bamboo poles and wood strips can be inserted into the pond for field snail habitat, which can not only receive water green manure as feed, but also raise field snails to increase income.

2. Snail collection

Field snails are mostly propagated naturally, and artificial culture can pick them up from paddy fields, Zizania caduciflora and muddy water ditches or go to the market to buy them, and then choose fresh snails with light brown color, thin shell and obtuse body tail as species of snails. Generally speaking, field snails weighing 15-25 grams reach sexual maturity and can reproduce above 15 degrees Celsius. Female snails are large and round, while male snails are small and sharp.

3. Stocking and breeding

The suitable growth temperature of field snails is 20-25 degrees. If it is below 15 degrees or higher than 30 degrees, the snails will stop feeding and hibernate in the soil below 10 degrees. They can be stocked from March to November to the south of the Yangtze River. If they are stocked in the natural area, 11 species of snails can be put in every square meter (3 males and 8 females). If you dig a pond for single culture, you can put 100-500 snails per square meter, and the water depth should be 0.8-1 meters. The bottom of the pond retains a layer of silt of more than 10 centimeters, which is convenient for field snails to crawl, feed, perch, etc., and when stocked, female and male snails can reproduce naturally.

4. Feeding and feeding

Snail is an omnivorous animal with convenient feed management and good breeding. Rice bran, vegetable shavings, melon leaves, animal carcasses and commercial feed can be fed. Generally, aquatic plants, soil humus, vegetable melon peel and other staple food, fertile paddy fields, fish and snail mixed culture or water surface stocking red duckweed, green duckweed, water hyacinth and other depressions, can be less or no feed.

5. Reproduction management

The field snail is a viviparous animal. In the south, the breeding period is from April to May and from September to November every year. The female snail generally gives birth in batches. Each snail can produce 20-30 small snails each time. It takes 14-16 months for the female snail to reproduce again. The newly produced small snail weighs 0.5-1.5 grams, which can reach more than 3-5 grams after 6 months and about 9 grams after 9 months.

6. Fishing harvest

Field snails should selectively catch snails when fishing, leaving more female snails, which can be harvested in batches. the water temperature is higher in midsummer and early autumn, and field snails mostly hide in the soil and grass at noon. They must be picked up in the morning and evening, or they can be drained and picked up. For every 100 female snails, the annual output can reach 100 kilograms.

The above is the method of snail culture, I hope it can help all the farmers!
