We can often see dragonflies flying low on the surface of the water and dipping into the water from time to time. So what does dragonfly mean? Why do dragonflies order water?

I. allusions and meanings of scratching the surface

Allusion: when Tang Suzong Li Heng was in charge of Li Heng, du Fu was alienated by Li Heng for speaking for a minister who should not be asked. he was very depressed and went to Qujiang to write poems for relaxation. Among them, it is written in the "two songs of Qujiang" that "I see the butterfly deeply, the dragonfly flies, the words circulate together in spring, and there is no contradiction for the time being."

Meaning: "dragonfly scratching the surface" refers to the action of a dragonfly touching the surface of the water with its tail when it is flying. It means doing things superficial and not in depth. Both "dragonfly scratching the surface" and "looking at the flowers on a horse" can be said that work or experience life is not very in-depth, but it is often universal, but it focuses on "point", which means doing things "at a glance", "not in-depth, not persistent", while "looking at flowers" pays more attention to "watching".

Why do dragonflies order water

Dragonflies lay eggs when female dragonflies lay their eggs. Dragonflies usually lay eggs on aquatic plants in small rivers and ponds. The larvae hatched on aquatic plants after ovulation are called "water birds". Water birds have to crawl in the water for a long time, at least one year, and most 7-8 years before they can become adults of dragonflies. After feathering into adults, their short and fat bellies become slender and longer, and their previously folded wings spread one by one. Finally turned into a dragonfly like a small plane, it can be seen that "dragonfly scratching the surface" is a natural part of dragonfly life-laying eggs to reproduce.

What do dragonfly larvae eat

The larvae of dragonflies are called water flies. When they are just hatched, the eggs of dragonflies have a special shape. Their six feet and head are all huddled with their bodies, just like little shrimps without feet. This stage is called "pre-infantile stage". The stage of pre-larvae is very short, at least 3-5 seconds and 2-3 minutes at most. The back of the former larvae will split, and the first instar larvae will molt and emerge. Dragonfly larvae have different instar stages according to different species. In general, the younger the age of the dragonfly larva is, the lighter the body color is. The time required for the whole larva varies according to different species and seasons, from one month to three or four years. In order to avoid natural enemies and prey, the body color of dragonfly larvae is very close to the environment. Dragonfly larvae usually inhabit streams and mainly feed on Diptera larvae such as mayfly larvae, stone fly larvae, Chironomus and some small fish. the species inhabiting still waters mainly feed on tadpoles, small shrimps, small fish, water fleas, smaller dragonfly larvae, backstroke bugs, wigglers, Chironomus and other Diptera larvae. The natural enemies of dragonfly larvae are birds, large omnivorous fish, Hong Niang Hua, negative bugs, dragon lice and so on.

The above is the introduction of dragonflies to the surface. Dragonflies, both adults and larvae are carnivorous and eat more pests. Adults can not only prey on mosquitoes and flies, but also prey on butterflies, moths, bees and other pests.
