With the advent of early summer and a marked rise in temperature, coupled with more Rain Water, all kinds of insects that endanger orchids are ready to move. When pests are rampant, orchids must be prevented and controlled in time in order to make orchids thrive. The prevention and control with pesticides is convenient and rapid, and the effect is good. As long as the medicine is three-thirds poisonous, it is better to be careful in the use to prevent drug damage. The simple method of pest control does have its uniqueness. Many orchid friends and I have achieved certain results through practical use. Please try: to treat aphids: use 5 grams of washing powder, 1200 grams of water, spray after full mixing, once every 3 days, for 3 times in a row, the insecticidal rate can reach 100%.

Cure the snail: pour the beer into a shallow plate and put it on the ground and potted soil. The snail will smell the wine and will climb into the plate and drown.

Cure ants: after smashing the garlic cloves, dig 4 holes in the flowerpot and bury them in the potted soil. Ants and earthworms in the potted soil 2-3 days later. The nematode will become extinct.

Cure red spider: after burning with mosquito incense containing pyrethrum, put it in an orchid basin, then seal it with plastic, smoke for 1 hour, it can kill eggs and adults.

Control scale insects: soak the ripe neem fruit in 1 jin of water for more than 1 month and take juice for use. If small scale insects are found, they can be killed once every five days and three times in a row.

The following is klg Lanyou's pest control method, transcribed here, for orchid friends to learn from: tobacco: efficacy: nicotine and nicotine in cigarettes can control aphids, red spiders, bugs, ants and other pests. Production: ① 40g soil tobacco or tobacco stem, add water 1000ml, soak for 24 hours, filter and then add equal amount of water dilution, then add detergent 2-3G to dissolve (if the concentration of cut tobacco can be higher; detergent is not only conducive to adhesion, but also has insecticidal effect); if ② does not have weighing apparatus, you can soak several paper cigarette butts in about 30 times water, and then add a little detergent to dissolve after the water turns yellowish brown. Use: use after filtering.

Front and back side of ① spray blade

When the ② pest is serious, soak the damaged part of the flower in tobacco water for 1-3 hours and soak the plant material at the same time, which can effectively kill the pests on the leaves and in the soil.

The remaining smoke water from ③ can be poured into the ant colony or sprinkled around the basin to kill the ants.

④ unsoaked cigarette butts buried in the soil can control small flying insects.

Note: ① contains nicotine, vinegar should not be added, otherwise it will weaken the insecticidal power; if ② is added with washing powder, rinse with clean water the day after spraying (or immediately after soaking); if ③ is mainly used for the prevention and control of scale insects, it is best to add washing powder, or use washing powder alone.

Garlic: efficacy: can control aphids, red spiders, shell insects, nematodes and other insect pests, but also can control powdery mildew.

Production: take a few cloves of purple garlic from the north, peel it and mash it, dilute it with 10 mi 20 times of water, and filter out the residue after 24 hours.

Use: spraying leaves with ① juice; pouring ② residue and remaining juice into the basin can control nematodes and shell worms.

Note: garlic juice has a certain viscosity. In order to prevent dust accumulation, the leaves can be washed after several days. Leek: efficacy: can control aphids, red spiders and other insect pests, more effective for aphids. Production and use: 500g leek mashed, add water 1250ml, soak for one day and then filter, take the supernatant and spray it three times every other day.

Onion: efficacy: can control aphids, red spiders and other insect pests, more effective for aphids.

Production and use: ① soaked in 1000ml water with 20 grams of onion scales, soaked for 24 hours, continuously sprayed 2-3 times a week; ② can be chopped or mashed and soaked before use in order to fully precipitate the active ingredients.

Sharp pepper (dry red wine pepper): efficacy: can control aphids, red spiders, whitefly, bugs and other insect pests.

Production: ① is fully dried and ground into fine powder; 50g of ② chili noodles is added to 1kg water, boiled for 10 minutes, then cooled and filtered; ③ takes appropriate amount of dried chili, add 20 times of water and boil for 20 minutes, cool and then filter; ④ boils 250g of dried chili seeds with water 2.5kg for 30 minutes, cool and then filters.

Use: ① spray wet leaves after spraying powder, coarse powder can be sprinkled on the basin surface; ② leaves spray, spray basin soil. Plant ash: efficacy: can control aphids. Production and use: 1 part of plant ash is soaked in 5 parts of water for 24 hours, filtered and sprayed.

The above methods are used for prevention, usually once a month. It's best to use it alternately. I have not used plant ash in the above methods, mainly considering that it contains alkalinity, which is not suitable in the north. I have been using other methods for a year, and I have not found any side effects and no insect pests, but this is only my personal experience and can be used for reference.
