How to solve the problem of bee theft in Chinese bee breeding?

Chinese bees have a good sense of smell and are prone to bee theft. If they are not controlled in time, they will not only cause disorder in the whole field, but also consume feed and lose colonies. Then how to solve and prevent these phenomena? Let's take a look at it together.

1. Selection of bee release sites and arrangement of bee colonies

For the bee colony raised in the small transfer land, we should first choose the place with good honey source conditions to release the bees. There should be a distance of 1 ~ 2 km between the two fields. Do not put the swarm on the flying line of the adjacent field, so as to avoid the theft of bees after the loss of honey at the end of the honey source. The arrangement of beehives should be displayed in different directions according to the topography. Bees should not be too close to each other. Due to the poor orientation of Chinese bees, bees are easy to steal bees by mistake.

2. Stop sporadic bee theft

If you find sporadic robbing bees, you should narrow the nest door and look at some weeds or boards in the south of the nest, so that the worker bees can still get in and out, but it is more difficult for them to enter. You can also spray water or apply a little kerosene in front of the nest to ward off stolen bees. If necessary, close the nest door, put it in a cool place, and open it at night. In addition, the stolen bees can also be swapped with the stolen ones.

3. Strengthen the management of bee colony

In general, especially when there is a lack of honey sources, Chinese bees should narrow the hive door, manage beehive gear, plug loopholes and do not make a comprehensive inspection. When it needs to be checked, the time should not be too long. The honey on the nest spleen can not be dropped on the ground or in the beehive, let alone put the honey spleen in front of the beehive. Cover the tight box cover after inspection. When feeding the colony, do not spill honey outside the box. Before the end of the honey source, draw out the empty spleen so that the bee spleen is proportionate and leave enough feed. Keep the empty cards closely. After taking honey, clean up the scene and appliances so as not to cause bee theft.

Before the honey source ends, it is necessary to merge the kingless group and the weak group in time, or take reinforcement measures to deal with them in time, because the weak group has poor ability to resist bee theft.

4. Stop stealing from each other

After individual bees start to steal, if they form a full-court burglary, they can block the nest door with iron gauze before the bee colony goes out in the morning, and open a round hole nest door on the other side of the hive. If the robbers are crowded on the original hive door, they can smoke. After 2 or 3 days, remove the iron gauze and close the nest door to make them familiar with the new nest door. A simple anti-theft device can also be installed at the door of the nest, which can be made of iron yarn and inserted into a human box, with one end protruding an inch outside the box. If it can't be stopped, the method of moving out will be adopted to get rid of the bee theft.

5. Stop large shares of pilfering bees

If there is a large number of robbing bees, it is necessary to quickly block the nest door, spray people with thick smoke to the flying robber bees, open the nest door after an hour, let the robber bees go and close again. Open the nest door of the theft group and the stolen group in the evening, at the same time, you can use the method of moving, move the stolen group to another place, put an empty box in place, the robber bees enter the empty box, there is no honey to steal, the theft will be lifted naturally.

6. Italian bees steal Chinese bees

Chinese bee colonies steal from each other and generally do not kill the queen bee, which leads to the destruction of the colony. However, if Italian bees from nearby Italian bee farms come to steal Chinese bees, special attention should be paid to the fact that the guard bees of the Chinese honeybee colony often lose their vigilance and do not fight against the stolen Italian bees, so it is easier for Italian bee workers to enter the Chinese honeybee colony and quickly seize the queen who stores honey and kill the queen of the Chinese bee colony, causing the whole colony to be destroyed. At the end of autumn in the north of the Yangtze River, the losses caused by Italian bees are particularly serious. If this kind of bee theft occurs and is out of control, the Chinese bee farm should move quickly to escape the theft of Italian bees.
