Beekeeping is not a simple thing, more tedious, and in recent years, the honey market is unstable, good and bad, so that many beekeepers feel confused. In the specific process of beekeeping, some technology is needed. So how to choose a beekeeping site in spring? What are the precautions?

First, how to choose a beekeeping site in spring?

First, there is an abundant source of powder. In spring, beekeeping sites should have two or more sources of nectar, such as rape, pear, peach and so on. These can bring sufficient auxiliary effects to bees and are conducive to the development of the population. In summer, the auxiliary honey and powder sources are litsea cubeba, Qianliguang, maple, rice and a variety of lianas, where bees can be raised.

The second is the choice of site. In spring, the beehive should choose the place where it is dry, sunrise and sheltered from the wind, and there should be a wind barrier in the west and north of the hive. If the colony can only be placed in the open field, earth walls and fences should be used to block the cold northwest wind on the north and west side of the hive. The cold wind lowers the nest temperature, which is not conducive to colony breeding, and forces bees to consume a large amount of stored honey to strengthen metabolism and heat production, accelerating the aging of worker bees.

The third is the placement of the beehive. To raise a small number of bees, you can choose to arrange them in a single box under quieter eaves or by the fence. When arranging beehives, rack or bamboo piles should be used to support the beehives 300mm and 400mm above the ground to prevent ants, termites and toads.

It should be noted that in the site with many dwarf bushes, the beehive can be placed on one side of or around the bushes, and the bushes can be used as a natural marker for worker bees to fly to reduce the phenomenon of maze nest.

Second, what are the matters needing attention in choosing a place to put bees in spring?

The advantages and disadvantages of the bee release site will directly affect the development and production of the bee colony. The site of the spring colony growth stage requires that there must be a good source of honey powder around, especially the powder source is more important, because the pollen of larval development is indispensable, the lack of powder source will affect the recovery and development of the colony. Although artificial protein feed can be supplemented, the feeding effect is not as good as that of natural pollen. In the middle and later period of the colony growth stage, the population is growing rapidly and the consumption of sugar feed is increasing, so the honey source of the beekeeping site is very important. In the beekeeping ground of the bee colony in spring, the source of powder must be rich in the initial stage, while the source of honey and powder should be taken into account in the middle and later stage.

The ideal honey source condition in the colony growth stage is that the honey intake of the colony is equal to the honey consumption, that is, the honey storage in the beehive does not increase or decrease. The colony with insufficient honey source will adjust the queen's fecundity by itself, which will affect the growth of the honeybee colony; with a large amount of honey, the nectar collected will occupy the queen's spawning hive, and the main work of the colony will be transferred to the collection of brewed honey, while the high-intensity collection work will shorten the lifespan of worker bees and affect the development of the colony. In the practice of beekeeping, priority should be given to the honey source where the honey storage capacity of the colony is slowly increasing, and if the honey source is slowly decreasing, it should be rewarded for feeding.
