Pigeon is a common poultry in China. Pigeon breeding has a long history in China, and it has expanded its development in recent years. So, what are the precautions for pigeon breeding? Let's get to know it together.

1. Prevent early mating

Sometimes, the sexual maturity of pigeons does not mean that the body has matured, so in order to prevent pigeons from maturing early, we should do a good job of grouping pigeons when they are 4 months old, and raise male and female pigeons separately, usually half a year. Pigeons can only be mated after their bodies have gradually matured, otherwise if the breeding time is too early, the female pigeons are not up to the standard of breeding and are prone to soft eggs, rotten eggs and so on. And it will also cause harm to the health of the female pigeon.

2. Egg laying management

Usually under normal feeding and management, the female pigeon can lay two eggs at a time, but it will last about 3 days. Generally, after laying eggs on the first day, the second egg will not be laid until the third day, so it is necessary to do a good job in feeding and management when the female pigeon lays eggs. Because the laying time is 1-2 days apart, it is necessary to supplement nutrition for female pigeons at this stage to improve the quality of pigeon eggs and ensure normal hatching in the later stage. Prevent young pigeons from hatching failure due to lack of nutrition.

3. Incubation management

What is different from the chicken hatching is that after the female pigeon has laid two eggs, will the male and female pigeons hatch continuously? the incubation time is about 3 weeks. When hatching the eggs, after about 5 days, it is necessary to take artificial illumination of the eggs. If the blood vessels in the eggs are normal and evenly distributed, they can hatch normally, and then take pictures of the eggs again after 5 days, and find that the eggs are black on one side and vacant on the other, that is, they can hatch normally. It will break out of the shell in about a week.

4. do a good job in epidemic prevention

When the pigeon breeds, the nest basin hatched by the pigeon should be checked frequently, and the mat grass should be paid attention to. If there is no mat grass, the breeding eggs will easily break and fail to hatch, reduce the hatching rate, and fix the position of the nest basin to avoid the nest basin wavering. If the nest basin is not fixed, it is very easy to cause the young pigeon to fall out of the nest basin and die, and the breeding pigeon will fight, which will seriously affect the hatching of breeding eggs and reduce the survival rate of young pigeons.

5. Feed management

When hatching, it is necessary to increase the protein content in the feed, especially the crude protein, which should reach about 19%, so as to provide enough pigeon milk for young pigeons after breaking their shells, so as to prevent insufficient milk from affecting the growth of young pigeons. if the female pigeon lays only one egg and the phenomenon of soft shell sand shell occurs, it means that the feed is improper or the quality of health sand is too low. At this time, it is necessary to improve feed nutrition and replace high-quality health care sand. To increase the productivity of pigeons.

The above are the matters needing attention in pigeon breeding. I hope it can help all the farmers!
