Since ancient times, the noble and noble character of orchids has become a symbol of the excellent moral character of the Chinese nation, which is deeply loved by the Chinese people. There are numerous poems praising orchids in our country, and orchid culture has a long history. It is really "a thousand paintings of bluegrass and ten thousand poems of orchids with one arrow." The fragrance of orchids is known as "Xiangzu", "national dependants" and "the first fragrance in the world". Pine, bamboo and plum are often attached equal importance to, but bamboo has knots but no flowers, plums have flowers but no leaves, pines have leaves but no fragrance, but orchids alone. It can be said to take the lead. Marshal Zhu de once wrote a poem: "talk about dressing the original national color, fragrance and victory over orchids." Orchid leaves are strong and soft, swaying in the wind, thousands of manners, the wind can not blow down, but not withered by frost and snow. Zheng Banqiao wrote: "although the wind is crazy, the leaves are not hurt; although the products are elegant, the flowers are also fragrant": this is the portrayal of orchids. Orchids have rich and complex high-level appreciation value, and their benefits are higher in material civilization and spiritual friends. it can be predicted that in the near future, orchids will gradually move towards the homes of ordinary people. Cultivation and management of orchids: our garden is based on more than ten years of practice and summed up experience for the majority of orchids for reference:

First, the characteristics of orchids: like shade, avoid strong light, 70% shade is appropriate, like moist, afraid of stagnant water, soft wind, avoid early wind and cold wind attack.

Second, soil selection: orchid growth is good or bad, soil is the key, orchid is suitable for loose and fertile soil containing humus, avoid sticking and easy consolidation, containing alkaline soil. We often use blue soil and proportioning ㈩ humus soil, marl soil, loose thorium-soil,-sugar paste (sun-dried)

(3) fine river sand. The above plant materials can be selected at will and local materials can be used.

(1) as long as you choose one of the plant materials, such as: 40% humic soil, 30% burning soil, 30% fine river sand, three kinds of mixing can be used. Note: blue soil that has been planted for more than two years can no longer be mixed. Natural plant material water moss; water moss species orchid is convenient and hygienic, can keep heat and moisture, take root early, root system is developed, and can reduce diseases and insect pests. It is a good plant material to be popularized in the orchid world at present.

3. Potting: orchids can be planted in pots all the year round, but September-April is the best season for potting. Before potting, it is appropriate to cluster the orchid seedlings into two generations of daughter and mother plants, cut off the old roots and bad roots, and place them in a cool place to dry until the roots are soft. According to the size of the orchid pot, put a thicker tile and brick on the bottom hole of the orchid basin, and then add 1/3 soil. Then put the orchid seedling into the basin, the new plant outward, one hand to lift the orchid seedling, the other hand to straighten out the root system, and constantly add soil to shake well, the soil should not be too tight and too full, generally with false bulbs exposed 1/3 is appropriate. Pour enough water into the basin to set the root.

Management: 1. Watering: watering should be determined according to climate, temperature, humidity, and observation of basin soil, not dry and thoroughly at one time. 2. Fertilization: orchids can apply appropriate amount of thin fertilizer during the growing period from April to September, and organic fertilizer, such as cake fertilizer and bone meal, can be put into the basin, or 0.2% potassium dihydrogen phosphate can be used to irrigate roots or spray foliage.

Fifth, diseases and insect pests and their control: orchids are generally not prone to diseases after mastering their habits and cultivation techniques. The most common pests are shell insects, which can be sprayed with 500 Mel 700 times dimethoate or dichlorvos; the main diseases are black spot and anthracnose, which can be sprayed once every 15 days with 800 Mel 1000-fold carbendazim and methyl thiophanate.

In short, the cultivation of orchids should be more observation, more practice, and constantly sum up experience. As long as we master the growth habits of orchids, we can grow good orchids.
