In recent years, special breeding is more popular, among which wild boar farming is sought after by many people. Wild boar meat is tight, delicious, and deeply loved by consumers, but compared with domestic pig farming, it is more challenging. So how to raise wild boar scientifically? What misunderstandings are easy to occur?

First, how to raise wild boar scientifically?

Male and female wild boars were put into the enclosure for artificial domestication. Wild boar is timid and afraid of people at first. in order to change this weakness, small wild boar is generally purchased for domestication in captivity, and its weight is mostly 10 kg ~ 22 kg, because the wild boar at this time is not old, easy to domesticate and highly malleable.

In the process of domestication, it is best to adopt the method of raising more than half of wild pigs with less than half of domestic pigs, and the proportion of mixed breeding is 2 ∶ 8. In such an environment, young wild boars and domestic pigs of the same age will soon join the group, allowing domestic pigs to take young wild boars for activities and feeding.

Wild boar is an omnivorous animal, which is generally fed twice a day after domestic pigs. Because of its wild habits, he is good at eating raw food. the common tender corn, red sorghum, wax gourd, potato (potato), sweet potato, peanut seedling, sweet potato seedling, grain ear, pumpkin, eggplant, fresh mulberry leaf, fresh thorn leaf, locust leaf, carrot, white radish, Chinese cabbage, landing apple, pear and persimmon are all its favorite foods.

At the beginning of domestic breeding, it should be fed with raw food. after a month, half of it is raw food, and the other half is feed for domestic pigs, such as corn flour, wheat bran, bean curd dregs and powder dregs; add the right amount of salt and mix it with feeding to slowly change the habit of eating raw food.

After the wild boar basically adapts to the enclosure filling, the wild boar can be fed with domestic pig feed, but some root and leaf plants should also be fed appropriately.

Second, what misunderstandings are easy to occur in wild boar farming?

1. In special wild boar breeding, there are risk factors in breeding technology and sales channels.

If the culture technology is not in place, the culture cost will increase and the risk will increase accordingly. At the same time, the sales channel risk is big, the product has no market, talk about how to make money. So before breeding, it is necessary to understand the local or surrounding consumer market, and do more on-the-spot investigation of the catering in the city.

If the local people are already raising wild boars, the investment needs to be more cautious. First, we should make a specific analysis of the market capacity, and second, we should start with the characteristics of the products to form a differentiated competitive advantage.

two。 The higher the purity of special wild boar, the better.

Practice has proved that the purity of special wild boar is between 62.5% and 75%. In addition to breeding as a breeding pig, this kind of wild boar can also be introduced to the market as a commercial pig. Special wild boars with a purity of more than 75% not only have declining reproductive ability and slow growth rate, but also need to have a high professional level to ensure the survival of piglets.

Only introduce purebred wild boars, use local domestic sows to cross and breed special wild boars. At present, people in the industry generally choose Duroc as the female parent hybrid generation (50% purity) of special wild boars. The appearance, coat color and carcass lean percentage of other breeds are not very ideal, and there are two most scientific choices for introduction households:

First, introduce purebred wild boar and 50% purity special wild sow, purify and breed 75% purity special wild boar.

The second is to directly introduce 75% purity special wild boar for reproduction.

In this way, the following disadvantages of crossing between purebred wild boar and Duroc sows can be avoided:

(1) the purity of the first generation of the hybrid is only 50%, and the second recombination is required to reach 75%, thus prolonging the breeding cycle.

(2) the size of Duroc sows is much larger than that of wild boars, so it is not convenient for boars to climb and breed.

(3) the price of purebred Duroc sows is much higher than that of 50% purity of special wild boars.

3. Make a small fuss and make money by selling seeds

Today, the wild boar industry is showing a good trend of development, and the market is becoming more and more standardized. the construction of pig farms must be examined and approved by the relevant departments, there must be a strict system of elimination and selection of pigs, and independent files of breeding pigs should be established, and epidemic prevention should be strictly guarded at the same time. Avoid inbreeding before it can be sold. It is generally difficult for small farms to meet the standard. From a long-term point of view, farmers should be engaged in large-scale farming and take the road of game market and deep processing of products.
