Chicken is one of the common poultry in rural areas, and many people get rich because of raising chickens in a large area. So, how to reduce the cost of raising chickens? Let's get to know it together.

1. Feed management

Each growth stage of the chicken has different nutritional requirements. We should formulate a reasonable feed feeding plan, make full use of the local natural feed, reduce the feed cost, and set up a reasonable feed trough in the henhouse to prevent feed splashing when the chicken is eating, resulting in feed waste. Adjust the height of the feed trough in time according to the growth of the chicken to ensure that the feed trough is always in a position suitable for chicken consumption. The principle of more and less feed should be followed when feeding. A special data survey shows that when the feed in the feed trough reaches 2 to 3, the waste rate is only 2% when the feed waste is nearly 13%. Therefore, it is necessary to ensure that the amount of feed is not more than 1 to 3 at a time.

2. Elimination in time

When breeding, we should observe the growth of each chicken regularly and eliminate the weak, residual and low production capacity chickens in time, because this kind of chicken not only has low laying rate and poor meat quality, but also consumes feed and increases feed cost. therefore, we should be eliminated in time, and the elimination standard should be determined according to the breeding direction, for example, the laying rate of laying hens should be observed, and broilers should be determined according to their body weight. No matter what the breeding direction is, diseased chickens should be isolated and treated in time. If they cannot be treated, they should be eliminated immediately to prevent infection.

3. Control temperature

Chickens are very sensitive to temperature changes, temperature discomfort will have a great impact on chicken growth, light will produce stress reaction, heavy will die, and different stages of chicken growth, different breeding directions of different temperature requirements will have a certain change. For example, the best temperature for laying hens should be controlled at about 18 degrees Celsius. If the temperature is lower than 7 degrees in winter, then the amount of feed will be increased. And will reduce the egg production, the summer temperature is high, does not cool down in time, the chicken may appear heatstroke dehydration phenomenon, reduce food intake, will also have a certain impact on the yield, so it is very important to control the temperature. It is not only directly related to the growth of chickens, but also affect the cost of feed.

4. Disease prevention and treatment

Disease prevention and control is the key factor to ensure the stable growth of chicken flocks. Reducing the incidence of disease can increase breeding profits and reduce breeding costs, because the disease is a great threat to the growth of chicken flocks. If chickens are not treated in time after the occurrence of disease, it may lead to the death of the whole column of chickens, but even treatment will incur treatment costs, thus indirectly increasing breeding costs. Therefore, disease prevention and control is an important and difficult work to reduce the cost of raising chickens. it is necessary to strengthen feeding management and improve the environmental hygiene of chicken sheds so as to create a good environment for the growth of chickens.

The above is how to reduce the cost of raising chickens. I hope it can help the farmers!
