Sand worms, also known as sea ginseng, or checkered star worms, are also a delicacy in the sea and are very sensitive to environmental quality, so they should be very careful in breeding. So, what pond culture techniques do sand worms have?

I. Pond conditions

The area of sand worm culture pond is generally 3-5 mu, rectangular or square, the water depth is 80-120 cm, the bottom material is better with muddy sand, the sediment content is more than 70%, and it is required to be loose and thick, the pond embankment is strong and durable, the pond has good water retention and can drain the pond water naturally, the pond should ensure adequate water source, good water quality, and there is no industrial and domestic sewage inflow nearby, which is the basic condition for sand worm culture.

2. Disinfection of ponds

1. Pond cleaning

After collecting worms, seal the dry pond, repair the pond dike, clear the bottom of the pond, dig a ring ditch around the pond, the ditch is 50 cm wide, and the pond is divided into 200-250 cm wide trenches, leaving a 50 cm wide ditch between the blocks for drainage and operation. after turning the soil and raking the soil, the breeding block surface is flattened and polished with a wooden board, which is pressed into a "road shape" from both sides of the block face to the center, so as not to make the area of the block water.

2. Disinfect fertilizer and water

The leveled pond should be coated with medicine 10 days before stocking, and the bleach powder can be used to sprinkle the whole pool with 8-10 kg per mu, the basic bait for water storage and culture after the fertilizer effect period, the water inlet is filtered with a silk mesh bag with a hole diameter of 80 mesh, the water intake is 40-50 cm, and the fermented farm manure can be selected for fertilizer water, 200 kg per mu, spread on the breeding block, or 3 kg nitrogen fertilizer and 1 kg phosphorus fertilizer per mu.

III. Culture management

1. Stocking time

Sand worm stocking time before and after Ching Ming Festival, 50kg per mu of seedlings, specifications for more than 400kg, seedlings require individual integrity, dark brown color, stocking should be carried out on a sunny day, pond seawater salinity is about 25 ‰, salinity difference between aquaculture water and seedlings should not exceed 5 ‰, stocking density should be 30 per square meter, seedlings should be spread evenly on the breeding block, let it naturally drill into the sediment.

2. Pond management

After 2-3 days of stocking, the survival rate of the seedlings was checked in the pond, and it was found that the survival rate was low, and the seedlings should be replenished immediately. After that, the pond should be inspected every week, ditches and dams should be regularly cared, and the ditches should be dredged in time in summer. Smooth the block surface into a "road shape", do not make the block area water, make the block surface firm, form a stable living environment, and facilitate the growth of sand worms.

3. Water level regulation

During the period of sand worm cultivation, attention should be paid to adjusting the water level according to climate change. the weather is warm in spring and autumn, the water level is deepened in hot summer and cold in winter, the water is generally changed once a week, the dry pond is 2-3 days a month, and the dry pond is used to remove the enemy pests such as fish, shrimp, crab and enteromorpha in the pond to ensure the cleanliness of the pond. during the period of sand worm culture, fertilizing and propagating algae or feeding some artificial bait can be carried out appropriately according to the conditions of the pond. As supplementary bait.

The above is the pond culture technology of sand worms. I hope it can help all the farmers!
