The Tibetan mastiff is known as the "Heavenly Dog" in Xizang. The harsh climatic conditions and difficult living conditions have created the tough physical features of the Tibetan mastiff, the bravery and loyalty of the Megatron beasts, so what food does the Tibetan mastiff eat? How to feed the puppies?

What food does the Tibetan mastiff eat

1. Energy feed

Cereal grains, starches, tubers, melons and fruits of plants belong to energy feed, which is characterized by high digestible energy and more heat energy. The Tibetan mastiff is commonly used in corn, rich in nitrogen-free extracts, but the protein is the lowest, the content of essential amino acids is insufficient, calcium is less than 0.1%, and the content of phosphorus is as high as 0.31-0.45%. Most of them exist in the form of phytic acid and phosphorus, which is disadvantageous to digestion and absorption of Tibetan mastiffs. Therefore, the preparation of diet should avoid its shortcomings and supplement its lack of nutrients.

two。 Green feed

The green feed contains 7590% moisture, rich in protein, low in crude fiber, appropriate in the proportion of calcium and phosphorus, rich in vitamins, especially high in carotene. At the same time, green succulent feed is a relatively balanced feed, but the digestible energy of dry matter is low, so it is only used as a supplement of vitamins for Tibetan mastiff.

3. Protein feed

Egg self-made feed can be divided into animal protein feed, plant protein lexicon and other categories.

① animal protein feed: the commonly used Tibetan mastiff is fish meal, meat and bone meal, shrimp powder, milk powder, blood powder and so on. The offal produced in the slaughterhouse, such as lung, liver and other viscera, is also often used as supplementary feed for Tibetan mastiff protein. Animal protein feed has high protein content, high lysine content and high ash content, especially high calcium and phosphorus content. Fish meal contains 5.44% calcium, 3.44% phosphorus and suitable ratio of calcium and phosphorus, which can be used as protein supplement and partial calcium and phosphorus deficiency supplement.

② plant protein feed: Tibetan mastiff often uses soybean cake (meal) and soybean powder as the main protein supplement feed. The protein content of meal feed is generally more than 40%, the digestible energy is also higher, and the nitrogen-free extract is lower than that of grain. However, there are often anti-nutritional factors such as antitrypsin and urease in this kind of feed, which can be removed after heating treatment.

Second, how to raise Tibetan mastiff puppies

1. Prevent cold and avoid summer heat

Tibetan mastiff cubs have poor ability to regulate body temperature, and ambient temperature has a great impact on the life activities of Tibetan mastiff, so special attention should be paid to indoor ambient temperature. Spread plastic film on the iron frame net in winter to prevent the attack of cold wind, and seal the front and rear windows with plastic film. In summer, plastic film should be removed, and climbing plants such as grapes and gourds should be used to shade the young Tibetan mastiff.

two。 Strengthen lactation

The newborn Tibetan mastiff mainly eats breast milk, but the nutritional lactation of the female Tibetan mastiff gradually decreases after 20 days, while the milk requirement of the young mastiff increases day by day, so it is necessary to supplement feeding in time to provide fresh and high quality animal and plant feed for the female Tibetan mastiff to ensure that the milk of the female Tibetan mastiff is adequate.

3. Improve nutrition

The baby Tibetan mastiff develops rapidly after one month, has a strong appetite, and the breast milk can no longer meet the needs. It is necessary to supplement the feed and feed some liquid food with high nutritional price and good palatability which is easy to digest and absorb. Such as fresh milk with milk powder, broth, cooked egg yolk, gruel and so on, plus some cod liver oil, multi-vitamins and bone meal, otherwise the baby mastiff will be malnourished and weak, affecting its growth and development.

4. Feed the right amount

Tibetan mastiff cubs have small gastrointestinal volume and should be fed less and more meals, 5-6 times a day. With the increase of age, the dietary concentration and daily feeding amount should be gradually increased to adapt to the increase of daily gain of Tibetan mastiff. After feeding the puppies, there is still food left in the bowl, indicating that there is too much food. On the contrary, after eating, the dog continues to lick the basin with its tongue or look at the owner, indicating that there is less food and not enough to eat.

5. Drinking water cleaning

Tibetan mastiff cubs should pay attention to water quality, water temperature, water quantity and time when supplying drinking water. Tibetan mastiff cubs must provide clean water in time, do not contain harmful substances, pathogenic microorganisms, etc., and the sink should be cleaned once a day. The amount of drinking water varies in different seasons, and the amount of drinking water in summer is the most, which can not be interrupted.

6. Disinfection and vaccination

The Tibetan mastiff cub breeding room can use fire alkali (mixed with 23% hot water solution), 3% Laisuer and 5% formalin to alternately disinfect the delivery room, delivery box and Tibetan mastiff cub activity place. Regularly disinfect food utensils with 2% potassium permanganate, Tibetan mastiff cubs take 1 tablet of levamisole every 2.5 kg body weight after birth, deworming twice in 30 days, the effect is very good, 2 months old regular vaccination.
