Last Updated: 2024/11/08, First, at the end of September and the beginning of October every year, wasps begin to leave their old nests and migrate to suitable places for the winter, which is the most appropriate time to collect wasps. At night, the insects are collected in the overwintering place of the bees and raised in the beehive. Put 300 million and 500 heads in each beehive.

1. Collection of wasps

At the end of September and the beginning of October every year, wasps begin to leave their old nests and migrate to suitable places to swarm and overwinter. At this time, it is most suitable to collect wasps. At night, the bees are collected at the wintering place of the swarm by using an insect catching net and cultured in a bee cage. 300~500 bees are placed in each bee cage, shaded by black cloth, placed in dry, ventilated and undisturbed empty rooms to reduce activity and promote early hibernation. In order to avoid bee colony is not easy to find after the nest, can also be harvested in the middle of September on the original nest, put into the cage or box, take advantage of the colony upward habit, put ripe apples, peaches and more moisture vegetables at the bottom of the cage. pest control,

II. Feeding management

In the first ten days of March of the second year, the temperature rose to above 10℃, and the overwintering bees began to disperse and move on the cage wall. At this time, apple, molasses, sugar mixed bun and other feeds should be immediately put into artificial feeding, feeding to the middle of April, the bees in the cage wings for a period of time, can be released from the cage. Artificial assisted nesting is the construction of beehives under natural conditions. When the temperature is constant at 13℃ in spring, the wintering wasps begin to disperse and move into the shed at night. The cage door or box cover is gently opened, and the wasps fly in the shed in the next day. When the temperature is constant above 17℃, bees begin to enter the nesting and laying stage. Observe at any time. If bees fly on the roof of the shed and around the gauze net, they should hang the bee cage everywhere in the shed in time, open the cage halfway and tie it firmly.

Only artificial bee cages in the bee shed are suitable nesting sites for shading from rain and wind, and bees fly into the cages naturally. After a short period of adaptation, the bees clean the nest base with their feet and mouthparts at the top of the cage. Molasses should be added to the feed tray to help the bees build strong nest stalks. Then build the first cell. Nest room is wasp mouthparts chew rotten wood and paper and other pasty fiber material into the cage, adhesion in the nest handle, and then slightly repaired, therefore, to put decayed wood in the hive, shed wall gauze hanging some waste paper strips, ready for bees to use.

III. Pest control

There are many kinds of natural enemies that harm wasps, including insects, spiders, birds and mice, as well as diseases caused by pathogenic microorganisms. The most serious damage to the hive is the yellow tail nest moth of Lepidoptera. For the prevention of nest moths, wasps should build their nests far away from the ground, because wasps in nature are generally seriously damaged by nest moths near the ground, and those far away from the ground are lighter; wasps in artificial breeding boxes, within 2 to 3 days of nest moths laying eggs, close the hive door every night to avoid nest moths laying eggs in the hive. Larvae in high temperature and rainy season easy to get putrefaction disease, infection will soon die. Hives can be evacuated and antibiotics sprayed on hives for prevention.
