The feed diets of cattle are mainly roughage, such as all kinds of weeds, forage, crop straw and dregs. It is also necessary to feed concentrate feed, which needs to be scientifically prepared with raw materials such as corn, soybean meal, wheat bran and premix. Other feeds such as fresh forage, silage corn straw, soybean straw, peanut seedlings and distiller's grains are high quality roughage resources for cattle.

1. Roughage

There are many roughages available for cattle, and all kinds of weeds, forage, crop straw and dregs can be eaten by cattle. However, there are great differences in nutritional value among all kinds of roughage. Cattle farmers can choose two or three kinds of high-quality roughage together according to local resource conditions. Fresh forage grass, silage corn straw, soybean straw, peanut seedlings and distiller's grains are all high-quality roughage resources for cattle. However, pregnant cows should be carefully fed with distiller's grains so as not to affect the normal growth and development of the fetus.

2. Concentrate feed

Concentrate feed needs to be scientifically prepared with raw materials such as corn, soybean meal, wheat bran and premix to meet the nutritional needs of cattle growth and development. it is obviously not possible for some cattle farmers to feed cattle only corn or wheat bran. Reference for the proportion of concentrate feed for fattening cattle: corn 60%, soybean meal 22%, wheat bran 10%, premix 4%, calcium carbonate 1.2%, baking soda 2%, salt 0.8%. For example, more soybean meal and wheat bran can be fed in the early and middle stages of fattening, while more corn and less wheat bran can be fed in the later fattening period.

3. Other feeds

Fresh forage grass, silage corn straw, soybean straw, peanut seedlings and distiller's grains.
