Brazilian iron tree needs to choose sandy loam to ensure smooth drainage. It can be placed on a sunlit balcony, but it can not be exposed to the scorching sun for a long time. The suitable growth temperature is between 20-30 ℃, and the overwintering temperature should not be lower than 5 ℃. Keep the basin soil moist, do not accumulate water, and fertilize properly.

Culture methods and matters needing attention of Brazilian irontree

1. In the process of storage and transportation, the temperature of 16 ~ 18 ℃ is the best, and the relative humidity is 80 {bf} ~ 90 {bf}. It can endure 15 days in the dark environment. However, plants with temperature lower than 8 ℃ during storage and transportation are vulnerable to freezing injury, and low air humidity will cause serious necrosis of leaf margin tissue.

2. Strong light in summer will lead to yellowing of leaves or scorching of leaf tips, so we should pay attention to shading and give brighter scattered light; although it is also shady, the overshadowed environment will also make the leaf color dim, especially the variegated leaf varieties, the markings on the leaf surface are easy to disappear, which will reduce the ornamental value.

3. Keep the basin soil moist during the growth period. Excessive watering and poor drainage are easy to cause root rot. If the basin soil is too dry, it will not grow well. The three seasons of summer, spring and autumn should often spray water to the leaves, stems and the surrounding ground to increase air humidity. When the air is too dry, the new leaves are easy to curl, and even partially dry, resulting in poor leaf extension after the sun.

Generally speaking, it is not difficult to cultivate Brazilian iron trees, but we should also remember to take care of them, water them patiently and fertilize them, so that they can grow better.
