Last Updated: 2024/11/22, Self-made organic fertilizer generally controls the moisture content of livestock and poultry manure such as pig manure, chicken manure, cow manure and other bulk materials such as fruit dregs, distiller's grains and furfural dregs at about 50%, and then mixes them evenly with rice bran, sawdust, cake meal, and so on. When the temperature of the stack rises to 50 ℃, it begins to turn over.

Self-made organic fertilizer generally controls the moisture content of livestock and poultry manure such as pig manure, chicken manure, cow manure and other bulk materials such as fruit dregs, distiller's grains and furfural dregs at about 50%, and then mixes them evenly with rice bran, sawdust, cake meal, and so on. When the temperature of the stack rises to 50 ℃, the pile will be turned once every three days. If the temperature exceeds 65 ℃, it will be turned every two days. When the stack temperature decreases, the material is loose, there is no original odor of the material, there is a slight smell of ammonia, and the pile is covered with white mycelium, the production is completed.

First, the material ratio.

Add 1 kg of organic fertilizer starter, the starter should be mixed with rice bran (or wheat bran, cornmeal and other substitutes) at 1:5, then evenly sprinkle into the fermentation heap, mix well. It is best to add straw or mushroom residue to adjust the carbon-nitrogen ratio.

Second, build a pile of materials.

When doing the heap, we can not do too small, too small will affect the fermentation, the heap fermentation effect is better when the height is 1.5 meters ~ 2 meters, the width is 2 meters, and the length is more than 2 meters.

Third, temperature requirements.

The start-up temperature should be above 15 ℃ (can work in four seasons, not affected by seasons, fermented indoors or in greenhouse as far as possible in winter)

Fourth, moisture requirements.

The moisture content of fermentation materials should be controlled at about 65%. Too high and too low are not conducive to fermentation, too little water, slow fermentation; too much water will lead to poor ventilation, slow heating, and produce bad smell.

The method of adjusting material moisture: too high moisture can add straw, sawdust, mushroom residue, dry soil powder and so on.

The method of judging whether the moisture is suitable or not: hold on to a handful of material and see the watermark in your fingers, but it is appropriate for  to land without dripping water.

Fifth, turn over the heap for ventilation.

During the fermentation process, we should pay attention to proper oxygen supply and turn over (turn several times when the temperature rises to 75 ℃ or above), and the temperature is controlled at about 65 ℃. Too high temperature has an effect on nutrients.

Sixth, the fermentation is completed. Generally, the fermentation can be completed within a week, the material is dark brown, and the temperature begins to drop to normal temperature, indicating that the fermentation is complete. If sawdust, sawdust and rice husk excipients are too much, the fermentation time should be prolonged and should be fully ripened.
