Cave spiders are usually kept as pets. In general, all spiders are poisonous, but the toxicity is different. Usually the pet hairy spiders on the market are relatively toxic, as long as they are not deliberately flirting and will not attack people on their own initiative. Even if it is bitten, it will not be life-threatening. It is very adaptable and does not require careful care.

Red rose spider is a kind of pet spider whose price is close to the people. it has strong ornamental and weak toxicity, and the market price is generally between 30 yuan and 120 yuan.

How to raise red rose spiders?

The red rose spider is native to South America, but it is not interested in wet rainforests and prefers to live in dry deserts (there are also a small number of bushes). The region with the largest number of red rose spiders in South America is the Atacama Desert in Chile, so red rose spiders are often directly called Chilean red roses. Wild red rose spiders generally live in a relatively dry climate, mainly feeding on insects, crickets, suckling mice and other food. It eats less, so it doesn't have to go around looking for food for it. Its hunger tolerance is even more famous in the spider world, even without eating for half a year. When you can't find insects in winter, you can buy live silkworm pupae or bread worms to feed. When you can't find food, you can dip a raw egg with cotton or sponge to keep it alive.

Chilean red roses are slow-growing, gentle and strong terrestrial spiders that like to hide in dark tree holes (which are not the case with many artificially bred ones due to individual differences) or under rocks. I don't like climbing to high places. In many cases, it will not dig its own cave, but needs the owner to provide a hidden cave. During the day, I like to live under dark tree holes or stones, and walk around at night, more active.

Each Chilean red rose should be kept independently in a covered feeding box (usually 50 × 30 × 30cm). The substrate can be laid with cactus mud with high sand content (can be purchased in the flower-and-bird market, if not, you can choose other soil or directly use river sand, but the river sand can be used after disinfection), or mix sterile soil with self-sand, laying two to four inches thick and compacted, and tree holes or small flowerpots should be placed in the feeding box as a hiding place. And water dishes to provide water.

The humidity for raising Chilean red roses should be low, suitable for about 70% or less; the suitable temperature is about 25-27 degrees Celsius, and the temperature can be reduced by about 3-5 degrees at night. Electric blankets can be used to heat up in winter (except for individual differences, because spiders do not like light, lamp heating is not recommended), while in summer there is no need for any thermal insulation equipment.
