What do leeches eat?

Leeches are omnivorous animals, taking the blood or body fluids of animals as the main way of life, often using plankton, insects and molluscs in the water as the main bait, and artificial conditions with all kinds of animal viscera, cooked egg yolk, formula feed and plant residues. Freshwater snail shellfish, miscellaneous fish, earthworms and so on.

As the food of artificially cultured leeches, we should follow the following three principles: first, leeches like to eat and have comprehensive nutrition, which can promote their growth and development; second, they can live with leeches for a long time in the human hirudin pond without polluting the water quality; third, they are rich in sources, low in price, convenient for artificial cultivation, and can be supplied in large quantities.

3. Although leeches like to eat more food, under the condition of artificial culture, snails and earthworms are selected as leech feed.

4. At present, in the process of leech breeding, the area is relatively large. When we choose feed, we must take into account the problem of quantity, snails are our main choice, because the output of snails is relatively high, and there will be in most parts of the country, the price is more appropriate.
