Is Badger a Protected Animal?

Badgers are protected animals. Badger populations are scattered and common in the Lao People's Democratic Republic, Thailand, Sumatra, Indonesia, and southwestern and eastern parts of Cambodia. A general decline in the abundance of this species can be explained by a decrease in eyewitness numbers in Myanmar. The study indicates that population trends of badger may vary in their distribution range, but the overall population size shows a downward trend. It is listed on the IUCN Red List of Threatened Species in 2008.

Generally speaking, except wild pig badger and dog badger are national protected animals, the rest are municipal protected animals, the state prohibits hunting, once found is illegal.
