Yang vernalization, Yin flowering, pole high quality good; indoor orchid Yin vernalization, Yang flowering is also very good. During the period from the Winter Solstice to Greater Cold, the temperature was the lowest in all parts of China, and people used to call it the depths of winter. When it comes to Yilan in the middle of winter, we can't forget the vernalization of orchids.

The vernalization of the so-called national orchid refers to the low temperature stage that must be experienced during the reproductive growth of orchids, which plays an indispensable role in promoting the growth of flower buds. The degree of vernalization is related to the flowering of orchids, which should not be taken lightly, and three problems should be paid attention to.

First, vernalization should be sufficient. Generally speaking, the period from Lesser Snow to Greater Cold is the best vernalization period for orchids, and the temperature during this period is best controlled between 0 °C and 12 °C. The vernalization time is generally no less than one month, especially from the Winter Solstice to Greater Cold.

Second, avoid too high or too low temperature during vernalization. In the vernalization stage, the temperature must not fluctuate too much. The low temperature below minus 5 °C and the temperature higher than 15 °C are not conducive to the normal growth of flower buds, which can easily lead to stiff buds of orchids and affect the uplift of flowers. Spring orchids often appear the phenomenon of "spring blooming". So that the flowers are greatly discounted.

Third, avoid high humidity during vernalization.

The vernalization period of orchids in nature is the lowest period of air humidity and soil moisture. The ecological environment of orchids in nature is the direction that orchids must strive to create in the orchid room. Therefore, the air humidity and basin soil humidity in vernalization stage should not be too high, otherwise it is easy to rot buds and roots, which is not conducive to the growth of Lanhui in the coming year.

Practice has repeatedly proved that low-temperature vernalization is an insurmountable stage for the reproductive growth of Lanhui, and orchid farmers can not change it artificially against the laws of nature. In order for orchids to bloom better, orchids must be fully vernalized. (Shi Zongyi)
