Cicadas have high nutritional value and delicious taste, so they are often brought to the table for people to enjoy. For this reason, many people carry on cicada pupa culture, what is the specific method of cicada pupa culture?

Culture methods of cicada pupae

1. First of all, we should choose a good breeding site, which is generally carried out in the woods or fruit forests. the soil of the planting land should not be too wet, nor should we use rats or insects.

In February, July and August, female cicadas will have cicada eggs, and we collect egg branches in places where cicadas are densely called. The best time to collect eggs in late autumn and early winter. Female cicadas lay their eggs on twigs of 4-5 cm. When we cut the twigs, we should be about 20 cm away from the eggs. Take the collected egg branches back to the breeding ground.

3. The collected egg branches are inserted into the soil basin, and we decide to plant them according to the situation of the cicada eggs.

4. When burying egg branches, dig a pit near the trees that are 30-40 cm long, wide and high, then bury 1-2 egg branches, and then cover the soil. If it is a fast-feathering cicada egg, it should be picked from the egg branch in time, dig a hole to bury it, no need to plant.

5. After the cicada eggs become cicada ants, they will climb into the ground under the trees to suck the sap and need to survive for several years. During this period, we need to ensure that the trees grow well, do a good job in daily management, and provide nutrition for the cicada ants. Pay attention to drainage in the rainy season.

6. After living underground for up to five years, cicada ants will develop into adults and break the soil and degenerate. Every year, when we first hear the cicadas, we have to set up a site to prevent the pupae from escaping. Put a 15-centimeter-high plastic sheet around the land where the egg branches are buried, as well as plastic sheet or tape around the base of the tree, all to prevent the cicada pupa from escaping.

7. From 20 to 22:00 in the evening, you can catch cicada pupae.

The breeding of cicada pupae is relatively simple, but it takes patience, because cicadas grow in the soil for a long time. Animals that prey on cicada larvae must also be cleared near the breeding ground.
