Southwestern subspecies of brown-backed Shrike. Distributed in Nepal, Thailand, Myanmar, India and China's Yunnan, Xizang and other places. The model origin of the species is in Nepal. The difference between this subspecies and other subspecies is that from forehead to upper back, eyes first to ear feathers are all black, and the rest of the upper body and shoulders are light brown. Domestic distribution in Yunnan and Xizang Changdu area (resident birds).
