Goldfish usually spawn on rainy or foggy mornings with temperatures above 16 degrees Celsius. But it is best to spawn at about 20 degrees, roughly from early morning to around 9: 00 in the morning. Changing new water will also promote spawning. In addition, if the male is always chasing the female, sometimes even knocking over the female, it indicates that he is about to lay eggs.

Second, what should goldfish pay attention to during spawning?

(1) Water temperature requirement

The incubation time of goldfish eggs varies with the water temperature. Generally speaking, it takes 3-7 days to hatch small fish from laying to hatching. If the average water temperature is 15-20 ℃, the hatching time is 5-7 days; when the average water temperature is 20 ℃, it can be hatched in 4-5 days; when the average water temperature is 20-25 ℃, it only takes 2-3 days. In short, the lower the water temperature, the longer the incubation time.

The water temperature in the incubator should be kept at about 20 ℃, preferably no less than 16 ℃, no higher than 28 ℃, the temperature difference should not exceed 6 ℃, and the maximum temperature difference should not exceed 10 ℃, otherwise it is easy to cause the death of color eggs or increase the number of abnormal fish fry.

(2) Weather influence

In general, when spawning for the first time every year, the air temperature and water temperature are often on the low side, and then there are sudden cold and hot, overcast and rainy weather, some eggs have to be delayed to about 10 days to hatch small fish, and the color rate and authentic rate are also low (except artificial heating). From June to July, the water temperature is as high as 28 ℃, and small fish can be hatched in about 2 days.

The practice shows that if the water temperature is changeable and the water temperature is too low or too high, even if the small fish can be hatched, the positive rate will be affected, and the small fish hatched at the water temperature of about 18 ℃ after 5-7 days have better physique and higher rate.

(3) the influence of PH value of water.

The pH of the water in the incubator should be about 7.5, preferably no more than 8, and the lowest not less than 7.2. Special attention should be paid to keeping enough dissolved oxygen in the water in the incubator. If possible, an oxygenation pump should be installed. However, the intensity of increasing oxygen should be slow and weak. Should not be too strong, lest the overturning of the water in the pond (tank) will affect the development of fish eggs and fry.

Generally speaking, when the temperature reaches above 16 degrees, goldfish are likely to lay eggs. The changes of water temperature, water quality and weather must be controlled when spawning.
