Ginseng is a valuable traditional Chinese medicine, less wild, but can be artificially planted, not only that, but also can be planted in flowerpots, both ornamental and edible. So, what is the planting method of potted ginseng?

1. Selection of basin

Choose a better breathable clay pot, a larger flowerpot, a rectangle with a length of 40 cm, a width of 25 cm, a height of 20 cm or a round flowerpot with a diameter of 25 cm.

2. Basin soil

Ginseng is suitable for growing in sandy loam and humus loam which is rich in organic matter, strong permeability and good drainage. It can directly dig the humus soil on the hillside, or it can be mixed with 6 parts of rotten leaf soil, 2 parts of garden soil and 2 parts of river sand.

3. Planting

It can be planted in mid-late April in spring and mid-late October in autumn. Cultivate the basin soil into a 60-degree angle slope at one end of the basin, hold the spores upward on the slope, and the roots should be straight. The whole seedling body is sprinkled with a thin layer of soil around and up and down, and then covered with soil to the arm of the seedling, and the spores are covered with soil above the arm.

4. Maintenance

Ginseng seedlings are planted and preserved in a cool place with astigmatism. Spring and autumn season the sun is not very strong, can be placed on the balcony or indoor astigmatism; summer sun is too strong, we should pay attention to timely shading, avoid direct sunlight, causing leaf burns.

5. Watering

When watering for the first time, water the edge of the flowerpot and avoid spores. Do not use tap water, because tap water contains bleach. The amount of watering should be appropriate, do not accumulate water in the basin, so as to avoid rotting roots and drying up. Winter ginseng will enter the dormant period, to reduce watering, to keep the soil from drought.
