Rabbits are common domestic animals and pets. Although they have thick hair, they should also pay attention to keeping warm in winter. So, how to raise rabbits in winter?

Protect against cold and keep warm

In the winter, the rabbit house should be filled with things except the air holes that must be left, and then grass curtains should be hung on the doors and windows. On a sunny day, it is necessary to open more windows and doors to change the air and ventilation inside the rabbit house. In the evening, if the temperature in the rabbit house is relatively low, you can also use a stove to increase the temperature inside the rabbit house. After that, the mat grass in the rabbit cage should be changed frequently to make the rabbit very comfortable on it. The temperature had better be between 6 and 11 degrees.

Second, increase the amount of feeding

In winter, green fodder is very scarce, and rabbits consume more physical strength, so in normal times, they should be fed more concentrate with higher energy and protein; there are also some crude materials, such as carrots, green vegetable leaves, etc., the so-called quantity is one-third more than in other seasons. If there is a shortage of green materials in the area where rabbits are raised, you can feed some branches of elm, willow and poplar. When feeding hay, it is best to soak in potassium permanganate water (0.06%) before feeding, and when feeding water, it is best to warm water at about 36 degrees.

III. Strengthen the campaign

Rabbits raised in cages are kept in the playground every sunny day within 7 days, and they are allowed to move freely for about 120 minutes each time. If the rabbits are raised in the cellar, if the light in the cellar is not good, they should move freely in the sun on a sunny day, at least twice in 7 days.

IV. Health management

Although in winter, some bacteria will get less sick, but some viral diseases, as well as parasites will be more. Also, some rabbits are prone to frostbite, constipation, colds and so on. Therefore, the environment inside the rabbit house should be cleaned frequently, and some food pots and cages should be cleaned frequently, and the bedding grass should be replaced every 4 days or so.

Rabbits are easy to get sick if they are not well taken care of in winter, so we must take more care of them.
