The well water in rural wells is generally filtered and infiltrated. As long as the water source and soil are not contaminated, the water is usually relatively pure, but if there are leeches, it means that there is something wrong with the water quality. What are the leeches afraid of? How to wipe it out quickly?

1. Introduction of leeches:

1. How big can leeches grow?

Leech culture cycle is relatively long, generally a year and a half for a cycle, generally the largest leech weight can reach about 65g, the average weight is also about 35-50g.

2. What do leeches eat?

Leeches are omnivorous animals that mainly feed on animal blood and body fluids. Plankton and insects in the water are their main food. Artificial breeding also needs to feed some animal viscera, formula feed, snails, plant residues, earthworms, cooked egg yolks and other bait.

In general, wild leeches mainly feed on the blood of frogs, and artificial Japanese medical leeches and Fei Niu leeches are fed with blood clots of animals. in order to ensure their nutritional balance, it is necessary to cultivate plankton and large tracts of water hyacinth, duckweed and other aquatic plants in the water to feed leeches, shade, perch and spawn. in addition, they should also be fed with snails in the pond according to the proportion of 50kg/ mu.

Second, what are leeches afraid of?

Leeches are afraid of salt, after being sprinkled with salt, salt and its body fluids form a high concentration of salt water, high concentration of salt water will make it stress contraction, promote its internal body fluid extravasation, leading to its dehydration and death. Therefore, do not panic after being bitten by leeches in the wild, drop a high concentration of salt water on the leeches, and they will soon release the sucker and fall down and lose water and die.

There are many animals that can kill leeches, such as lobsters, fish, rice field eels, rodents and dragonfly larvae, as well as snakes such as cobras, and frogs eat leeches on their strong stomachs, and some water birds also eat leeches, such as cranes.

Third, how to quickly eliminate the leeches in the well?

1, leeches are very afraid of salt and alkali, encounter salt or alkali, leech epidermis mucosa will soon fall off, and soon lose water to kill, catch leeches and throw them into a large container containing salt or alkali to burn to death.

2. According to the water storage capacity in the well, the normal usage of disinfectants (bleach or bleach) can be calculated. Then, put 2 to 3 times the normal amount of disinfectant into the basin, add a small amount of water, stir evenly and pour into the well water, cover and seal the well for 1 hour, and the leeches in the sidewall and well water can be killed.

3. In general, the well in the farmer's home is relatively small and the bottom of the well is relatively shallow, so you can put an appropriate amount of salt or lime or bleach, or a mixture of the three. If there is more water in the well, salt or lime or bleach is not enough to kill the leeches, but they will stimulate the leeches to leave the wall of the well, so that the well water can be drained and the sludge at the bottom of the well can be removed. Then put some bleach chips into the bottom of the well to kill the leeches and other germs and thoroughly clean the bottom of the well. The pumped well water and sludge should be placed far away from the wellhead and need to be treated centrally.

4. If it is found that the source of the well water is water from nearby paddy fields or fish ponds, dig the soil outside the shaft wall, expose the periphery of the well wall, use cement to inlay seams and paste plastic film (polyethylene, not PVC, because the latter is toxic), and then backfill with new soil instead of old soil.
