The summer emperor plum leaves are waving! There are 3-5 leaves per plant, 26-42cm long and 1.4-1.6cm wide; emerald green; plant type loose; leaf posture semi-drooping; lateral veins obvious; leaf surface spreading and glossy; leaf tip serrulate obviously; leaf tip mucronulate. The flower is erect, 15-24cm high, yellowish green; 3-6 flowers per flower, arranged loosely; the base of the inflorescence sheath is yellow-green, slightly covered with purplish red ribs; the flower bracts are long and broad, and the color is similar to that of the flower. Sepals (outer tripetal) oblong, base narrow, broadening forward, widest at 2 canthus, front narrowed and tight, tip folded in pairs, midline convex, sepals 1. 6-2.0cm long, 0. 7-0.9cm wide, yellowish green, yellowish Petals (holding heart, holding petals) are shorter than sepals, separate from lip petals (tongue) on three sides of core column (nose) at the same time, and close to core column, petal base is narrow and long, tight edge from middle, front end is blunt, deep pocket, front end of two petals is large, core column top is obviously exposed, petals are light yellow, among which the lower part and abdomen of core column have uniform purple markings. The labellum is short and round, the front end of the middle lobe is slightly hung, obviously thickened, the edge is slightly inrolled into a shallow pocket, the lateral lobe is not obvious, the base color of the labellum is light yellow, the two sides are densely covered with purplish red lines, and penetrate to the outside; the flower diameter is 1.8-2.2cm. It is a variety of diligent grass and flowers.

According to Mr. Yang Zeyu, consultant (former vice president) of the Orchid Association of Pixian County, Sichuan Province, the grass seller may be from the surrounding mountain area, which is a large downhill grass (6 seedlings). It is divided into 3 pots, each with 2 seedlings. A friend saw that the flower was beautiful and appreciated it very much, so he gave him a pot. I later heard that the pot of this friend had already been planted and died. One of the remaining two pots was lost, and the remaining one was normal and blooming after a few years. In 1986, Mr. Deng Chengkang of the orchid family in Sichuan thought highly of the flower, so it was included in the calendar edited by him, which gradually spread. The flower was initially called "Xia he Mei" (because the early flowers were not stereotyped, the outer three petals were in the shape of a lotus). Later, Mr. Huang Xingyou, a well-known orchid family in Chengdu, took a fancy to "Xia he Mei" and began to buy and cultivate it in large quantities and promote it, which was soon recognized by the Orchid World. When Mr. Huang bought the seed, he did not know the exact name, so he named it "Xia Huangmei" because it had a spring sword "Huangmei". He thought that the meaning of the word "Huang" was better than that of "Huang". So he changed it to "Xia Huangmei".
