Grass turtles, also known as turtles, grass turtles, golden line turtles, ink turtles, mud turtles and so on, are omnivorous animals. Every winter, animals begin to hibernate, so how to keep grass turtles hibernating?

I. changes in ambient temperature

When the ambient temperature is below 15 degrees Celsius, the tortoise will go into hibernation. When the tortoise wakes up from hibernation, the indoor temperature should be measured first to prevent the high temperature from interrupting the hibernation of the tortoise.

Second, whether or not to wake up completely

After hibernation, the awakening process of the tortoise is gradual, and it is best not to feed it immediately, let alone overfeed, but should let the tortoise move for a day or two until it wakes up completely.

3. Fully absorb moisture

If the tortoise hibernates in a relatively dry environment, after fully awake, put the tortoise in clean water for a day or two, so that the tortoise can fully absorb water and defecate thoroughly.

4. Control the amount of food fed

After defecating, the tortoise can begin to feed. The first feeding after hibernation is mainly to restore the physical fitness of turtles. Turtles should be given high-energy food, but the first feeding should not be too full, about 2/3 of the normal food intake.

Grass turtles mainly inhabit rivers, lakes, reservoirs, ponds and other waters. Most of them live in the water during the day, and when the summer is hot, they look for shade in groups.
