Rain frog is a kind of frog, which lies in stone crevices or caves near tree roots during the day, and perches on coffins at night, catching beetles, ants, and so on. At present, many areas are still specialized in breeding, so how to raise rain frogs?

1. Site selection

Rain frogs mostly live on shrubs, reeds, tall crops, or weeds on the edge of ponds, rice fields and their vicinity, so when selecting land, try to choose ponds or rice fields with clean water quality and adequate water sources for breeding. After selecting the site, the rest area, the pond and the feeding area should be established according to the actual situation. The rest area should retain some grass plants, while the pool can be distributed in the whole feeding area as far as possible, and the rest area should be chosen near the aisle. The outermost should be surrounded by plastic sheeting or nets to prevent frogs from escaping.

2. Food feeding

Rain frogs have miscellaneous food habits and some frogs do not have horny teeth, so they mostly feed on filtering plankton in the water, and when there is not enough food, there will be cannibalism between big tadpoles and small tadpoles. If they are artificially fed, feed them bread crumbs. If it is natural in the pond, it is usually plankton in the draft. Mosquito larvae, plankton, fish and insects, etc.

3. Paired spawning

Rain frogs sting in late March or early April. Spawning in still waters from April to June. The diameter of the egg is 1 to 1.5 mm. Dozens or hundreds of eggs form a mass and adhere to aquatic plants. Some metamorphosis will be completed in late May, and hibernation begins from September to October.

4. Daily management matters

(1) first of all, it is necessary to check whether birds will come to prey on frogs, and some have to consider whether or not to add air defense nets. The protective net is also to check whether there is any ragged condition, or whether there are exotic snakes and other snakes sneaking into the breeding pond.

(2) in hot weather, check whether sunscreen is in place and whether it is necessary to increase the area of shade. Judging from the density of frogs in the shade, it will increase if many frogs are huddled together.

(3) finally, some accidental dead frogs in the culture pond should be removed in time and infect the water quality in a second.

Generally speaking, rain frogs are easy to raise. As long as you choose a good place, make a good air defense net, feed good food, and prevent natural predators, you can grow healthily.
