Silver arowana is a very popular ornamental fish because of its unique appearance and looks very powerful. However, as a large variety of ornamental fish, raising it also requires some effort, and a slight error may lead to death. Let's take a look at what the fish usually eat. How to feed?

What food do arowans usually eat?

What food the arowana eats depends on its size. Generally, the eating habits of 10cm, 15cm and 20cm arowana are different. For details, please refer to the table below.

12 cm below the young fish just started to eat raw bait, then you can feed just shell white bread worms, shrimp (must remove the head and tail, it is best to peel into shrimp balls to feed so as not to shell hurt its stomach), blood worms and other more palatable bait. Eat fewer meals and feed four times a day.

15 cm or so small dragon fish can be fed normal bread worms and shrimp (shrimp is best removed shrimp sword), can also be fed 1.5 cm small fish. At this time, the arowana grew rapidly and ate amazingly. The number and quantity of baiting can be increased appropriately.

Arowana above 20 cm can be fed larger fish, shrimp, loach, meat and other bait. You can also feed a variety of insects and other live bait, these are arowana like food, but be careful not to let these bait contaminated.

It is worth noting that raising silver arowana, then do not feed internal organs, because too much fat can cause a series of diseases. You can also go to the professional pet fish market to buy professional bait.

2 How do you raise silver arowana?

1. Preparation of breeding facilities

Silver arowana is a relatively large ornamental fish, so it needs a larger breeding space, too small will affect its growth rate. In addition, silverfish also like to jump, so usually cover, so as not to jump out after being frightened.

2, water temperature requirements

The temperature of the water in which the arowana was raised was very important. Generally, it could survive between 22 and 29 degrees Celsius. Of course, it was more appropriate to control it at about 25 degrees Celsius.

3, water quality requirements

The quality of water used to raise arowana should be kept from weak acid to neutral, and no nitrite can be detected in the water. In order to maintain the stability of water quality, we must establish a good nitrification system, and so on after its stability can be changed once a week, when changing the water remember to open the aerator, so as to be able to stabilize the water quality.

4. Scientific feeding

The above has already introduced the silverfish eat food, usually to regular, quantitative feeding, mainly according to the silverfish growth stage to change the amount of food, shape and so on.

5. Control environmental factors

When changing water, the temperature difference must be less than 3 degrees, and the temperature difference when young fish is less than 2 degrees, otherwise it will cause silverfish to "catch a cold" due to excessive temperature difference; water quality, pH, ammonia nitrogen content, oxygen content, hardness and other physical and chemical indicators must be within the scope of matters, so as to make silverfish healthy and less sick.

6. Light

Silverfish also needed light, especially red Silverfish. It was best to keep the light for more than four hours. If it was red light, the red Silverfish would be more beautiful.
