What is Vibrio?

Vibrio is a kind of gram-negative bacteria which is short, curved into an arc and has a flagellum at the tail. It belongs to Vibrio family and Vibrio genus. The main distribution areas are estuaries, bays, coastal waters and marine animals.

At present, there are 91 species of Vibrio. The main pathogenic bacteria of fish and shellfish are Vibrio alginolyticus, Vibrio anguillarum, Vibrio parahaemolyticus, Vibrio vulnificus and so on. Some Vibrio vulnificus can also cause human diseases such as Vibrio alginolyticus, Vibrio vulnificus and so on.

Food poisoning caused by the bacteria is spread by improperly cooked seafood or salted products. Common for jellyfish, sea fish, shrimp and all kinds of shellfish, food containers or chopping boards due to raw and cooked contamination of this bacteria, can also occur food poisoning.

The bacteria can occur all the year round, with an incubation period of 5-72 hours (average 24 hours). It can range from self-limited diarrhea to moderate cholera-like disease, with abdominal pain, diarrhea, vomiting and low fever. Most of the feces are water samples, a few are blood samples, and recover quickly. Immunity is not strong after the disease, can be repeated infection.

1. Chlorine-containing disinfectants

The molecular weight of hypochlorite is small, and it is easy to spread to the surface of the bacteria and penetrate the cell membrane into the bacteria, resulting in the oxidation of bacterial proteins and the death of bacteria.

Chlorine-containing disinfectants can kill a variety of microorganisms, including bacterial vegetative forms, viruses, fungi, Mycobacterium tuberculosis and the most resistant bacterial spores.

2. Peroxide disinfectant

Peroxide disinfectants have strong oxidizability, and various microorganisms are very sensitive to them, which can kill all microorganisms.

Such disinfectants include hydrogen peroxide, peracetic acid, chlorine dioxide and ozone. Their advantage is that there is no residual toxicity on the articles after disinfection.
