The fishing girl in Zhuhai was discovered in the early 1990s. It was not until the middle of April that the bud slowly bloomed and opened into the sky. The fruit lived up to expectations. It was a group of peony-type Mulanqi flowers with many peonies and tongues. Seeing such a beautiful flower, Zhou Shaodong Lanyou immediately named it "Tianshi Dance" and published an appreciation article in the Macao Daily. Immediately after this flower was reported in the newspaper, it aroused the general concern of orchid friends in Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao. Feng Gangyi, chairman of the Macao Chinese Poetry Society, was the first to find Zhou Shaodong Lanyou and promised to give up love at a high price, but unfortunately he failed to do so. Since its discovery, this flower has shone brilliantly at many orchid exhibitions at all levels, and won the gold medal of the first (Dongguan) Orchid Expo in Guangdong Province. On January 18, 1994, Zhou Shaodong Lanyou officially landed the flower in the China Orchid Association, numbered (Lan) 003, and was renamed by Professor Wu Yingxiang with Zhuhai's iconic stone carving "Zhuhai Fish Girl". There are many aliases for fishing girls in Zhuhai. in addition to "Zhuhai fishing Girl" named by Wu Lao when landing, there is also the name "Tianshi Dance" given by Zhou Shaodong Lan you when he published an article in Macao Daily. Later, the variety spread to Taiwan, and because of the different access channels and the needs of commercial operation at that time, this flower had another auspicious and pleasant name: "Da Sheng Qi Hua". Plant characteristics

The Zhuhai fisherwoman's plant is extensive and powerful, with arched leaves and drooping short feet. The leaf color is slightly yellow, full of luster, the leaf is clear and moist, the general leaf width is about 2.5~3cm, and the widest part of the leaf appears at 1 / 3 from the tip of the leaf; the leaf length is between 50~60cm, but the plant height is only about 25 / 30 Cm because of the leaf shape bending. The leaf tail ends bluntly and twists slightly at the 1cm away from the leaf tip like Gong Zhoulong. The upper edge of the leaf is serrated, and the serrations are almost imperceptible. When the flower blossoms in early April, the outer three petals, the holding petals, the labellum and the core column all open normally, but the column part of the core column becomes very wide and thin, and several lips and numerous small petals are added between the broad core column and the lip petal. Compared with Taiwan's multi-petal strange flowers, Zhuhai Fish Girl has the peculiar features of Jade Lion, Guoxiang Peony, Datun Kylin and other flowers. its shape is similar to Jade Lion, its petal is like Guoxiang Peony, and its tongue is like Datun Kirin, but it is even better than it in terms of flower shape, petal or color, especially in terms of flower fragrance, Zhuhai Fish Girl is fragrant and full-bodied, which is far above the slightly less scented Taiwan-made ink orchid.

Market, cultivation and others

The fishing girl in Zhuhai has a history of nearly 20 years since it was discovered, which can be described as the new and old species of Meranqi flowers. This variety has strong plant, developed root system, strong disease resistance and easy cultivation. However, there are also points to pay attention to in the process of planting and breeding. The bud incubation period of fishing girls in Zhuhai is very long, and the nutrients consumed increase accordingly, so in daily management, we should pay attention to see more sun after autumn and apply more scale potash fertilizer. to facilitate the plant to accumulate sufficient nutrients. In addition, if you want the flowers to bloom in place, it is best to plant more than three seedlings. But in any case, the current widespread crystal variation is still unstable, but it is hateful that some orchid vendors have made use of these plants with occasional unstable crystal mutations to sell them as strange flowers in crystal art, in order to deceive unknown orchid friends. people will have to wake up their spirits by buying this kind of orchids in the future. Recently, we can see from books and periodicals that some orchid friends in Taiwan have cultivated Zhuhai fishing girl plants with thread art, such as claws, stripes, and so on, regardless of natural variation or the use of science and technology.
