I. living habits of freshwater jellyfish

Freshwater jellyfish are distributed all over the world, the main distribution areas in China are Sichuan, Zhejiang, Hubei, Henan, Shandong and so on.

Freshwater jellyfish are formed alternately from asexual and sexual reproduction generations. Polyps (the "childhood" of jellyfish) have very low requirements for the environment, while once separated from jellyfish, they have high requirements for the environment and water quality. When the environment adapts, the polyps will naturally separate the jellyfish; when the environment is unfavorable, the polyps will be absorbed under the water or in the rock cracks for a long time to survive.

Mature jellyfish can be divided into male and female, with slender tentacles, female tentacles extending to the top, short and thick tentacles, and males vertically. Males and females discharge eggs and sperm into water, and the eggs are fertilized and developed into a tiny planktonic larva covered with cilia. The latter larvae come into contact with external objects such as stone and soil, and gradually develop into a tiny dendritic polyp. Polyps can go through extremely hot summers and cold winters and produce jellyfish by budding in the following spring. After the jellyfish matures, it will reproduce sexually.

Second, how to raise freshwater jellyfish?

Select less toxic jellyfish species for culture, prepare the aquarium, and control the water temperature, jellyfish love to eat plankton, can prepare some harvest shrimp, Artemia feeding, and need to give enough light during the culture period.

The water temperature of about 25 ℃ is suitable for the growth of freshwater jellyfish. Too high or too low temperature may lead to the death of jellyfish.

When feeding, when you find that the digestive organ in the jellyfish wing and the mouth turn orange, it means that the jellyfish is full. The number of times of feeding should be well controlled and should not be fed too much, as it will cause the water quality to deteriorate easily.

Light is an important factor for jellyfish to replenish energy. most professional jellyfish aquarium tanks contain coral blue lights, which can provide the photosynthesis of unicellular xanthophyta, and the light time does not need to be specially enhanced.

What are the species of freshwater jellyfish?

At present, 11 species of peach blossom jellyfish have been found in the world. Except for Soxhlet peach blossom jellyfish in Britain and 1922 in Japan, the other 9 species are produced in China. They are Yichang peach blossom jellyfish, Leshan peach blossom jellyfish, Chinese peach blossom jellyfish, Xinyang peach blossom jellyfish, Hangzhou peach blossom jellyfish, Sichuan peach blossom jellyfish, short-handed peach blossom jellyfish, Chuxiong peach blossom jellyfish, Zigui peach blossom jellyfish and so on.
